As the weather gets warmer,there are few things that are better to do than travel.But traveling might not be that fun for everyone,especially for those who have motion sickness(晕动症).

Motion sickness is also called travel sickness.It is a common experience for many people.Depending on how you travel,it can be called carsickness or seasickness.People with motion sickness feel very uncomfortable while they are in motion.They feel sick and dizzy,like the room around them won't stop spinning.

It is generally believed that motion sickness happens when your senses become confused (困惑的)with each other,Scientific American reported.

We use different parts of our body to sense movement.Our eyes tell us if we are moving.The inner ears (内耳) contain a special liquid that helps us sense our direction and balance.Our muscles react to movement.

When you move around,these body parts work well together.But when you are in a car or an airplane,they get confused.Your inner ear signals that you're moving.This mismatch gives us motion sickness.

But some people are less sensitive to motion sickness.This may be because they have certain genes (基因) that prevent mismatching senses,Bethann Hromatka,told the Atlantic.

Although there are many ways to deal with motion sickness,scientists believe that the key is to simply try to adapt to it.For example,some astronauts do special exercises that give them mild motion sickness.After a week or two,the astronauts become used to it and don't feel uncomfortable anymore,a NASA flight doctor,told the BBC.

 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。

Ahh…aaahhhhchooo! That sneeze(打喷嚏) is uncovered, and the

germs(细菌) fly through the air. But have you ever wondered about the germs in your body? They are small organisms(有机体) that live inside us. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}It's impossible to keep them out of our bodies. They are so tiny that we don't even know they are coming inside our bodies. Only when we begin to feel uncomfortable, we know they have made us sick.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#}They come out in a sneeze, a cough, or a breath. They can also be spread by saliva(唾液), sweat(汗液), or blood.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}For example, a person may touch his or her nose and then touch a tap in a public restroom. If someone else touches that tap right away, he or she may pick up these germs.

How can you protect yourself from germs? Washing your hands is the most important way. Soap and water are germs' enemies.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}This is why it's so important to wash your hands often, and you'd better wash the hands for about twenty seconds every time.

{#blank#}5{#/blank#}This means getting enough rest and not being too tired. It also means eating good foods and exercising.  These are germ-fighting secrets!

A. They wash germs away.

B. Staying healthy also keeps germs away.

C. Germs are usually spread through the air.

D. Sometimes, they come from touching something.

E. Germs are alive and they can cause us to get sick.

Today,young people spend about six hours a day in front of a TV or a computer and less than four minutes playing outdoors.It is not healthy for the mind and the body when time spent using technology replaces outdoor time.

Some health experts call green time "vitamin G".Kids who don't get outdoors much are likely to have trouble in school.Doctors believe that is because being outdoors excites the mind more than sitting around indoors.Even those who usually spend a lot of time outdoors notice a difference when they don't get green time.Madelyne P,14,says , "I feel more tired when I don't get outdoors."

Researchers believe the positive effects of green time come from the physical activity in pastimes such as hiking or boating.Exercise produces brain chemicals that improve learning,mood,and sleep.It also improves learning by increasing connections between nerve cells that are important in learning and memory.Some schools hold classes outside for those reasons.Student Hannah Smith,says she believes the outdoors helps her focus and gets her to learn.Learning in a forest sparked her interest in art and photography,too.

Even doctors are helping give their patients a dose of(一剂)vitamin G.Miller writes "park prescriptions (处方)"for her patients because,being outdoors is good for health.She finds that when she gives patients park prescriptions,they are likely to continue with them.

Getting outdoors can be simple,just like calling together your family for a picnic lunch.All it takes is five minutes or more of green time.

Get outside, and get your vitamin G!

March 30th is the World Bipolar Day. Liu Tiebang, president of Shenzhen Kangning Hospital,introduced bipolar disorder (BD) to the public in an effort to raise awareness for the mental health illness.

Bipolar disorder, also called manic depression (躁郁), is a mood disorder which can cause a patient's mood to change from a very high to a very low. Manic symptoms (症状) can include increased energy, quick response, unusual talkativeness, a lack of need for sleep, high self-esteem and so on. Depressive symptoms can include less energy, loss of interest or pleasure, feeling worthless, low self-esteem and suicidal(自杀性的) thoughts.

Patients with BD are often misdiagnosed (误诊) as depression. Liu said that while someone is experiencing a manic stage, he or she may be unusually talkative, sociable and outgoing. Patients having these kinds of problems may not realize that they are ill and often do not look for medical care. On the other hand, patients experiencing depressive periods are more likely to be noticed.

"With the development of treatments and medications, the treatments for BD have become better at present," said Liu. "The medications are safer. Patients getting the right treatments at the earlier stage of BD have a higher possibility of recovery (恢复); or the mania and depression may happen again."

For patients with BD, in addition to medication, other methods such as physical treatments, psychological treatments, social support groups and crisis intervention may be useful for managing their symptoms and controlling mood changes.
