He first appeared in print in 1887, and {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(be) a part of popular culture for over a century. He has become {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(know) for his early use of deductive reasoning(演绎推理). In total, Holmes appears in four novels and fifty-six short stories. Most of these {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(write) from the view of his friend Dr. Watson.
Although at first a character in novels and short stories, Sherlock Holmes has become popular on the big and small screen.
