Two little children were sitting by the fire one cold winter's night. Suddenly, they heard a knock at the door. “Who can it be?” they wondered. One ran{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (curious) to open it. There, outside in the cold and the darkness, stood a child {#blank#}2{#/blank#} no shoes on his feet and dressed in old thin garments. He was trembling with cold, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} he asked to come in and warm himself.

    “Yes, come,” cried both the children. They drew the little stranger to their warm seat, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (share) their supper with him, and gave him their bed, and they slept on a hard bench.

    On the night, they{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (awake) by sweet music,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} was played by a band of children in shining garments. Suddenly the stranger child stood in front of {#blank#}7{#/blank#}: no longer cold and ragged, but dressed in silvery light.     When he was saying that, he broke {#blank#}10{#/blank#} branch from the tree that grew near the door, planted it in the ground and disappeared. But the branch grew into a great tree, and every year it bore wonderful golden fruit for the kind children.

    This morning, they left on a long trip to Hawaii. They were as {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(excite) as if it were their honeymoon(蜜月).

    When my parents married(结婚), they had only enough money for a three-day trip fifty miles from home. They made an {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(agree) that each day they would put a dollar in a special metal box and save it for a honeymoon in Hawaii for their fiftieth anniversary(周年纪念).

    Chinese President Xi Jinping has praised a group of middle school students for their efforts in satellite design. He said he was pleased with their curiosity and bravery in {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(science) exploration. The president also wished the teachers and students in Bayi School {#blank#}2{#/blank#}happy new year.

    Xi made the praise in a letter {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(write) to the students in Beijing's Bayi School on Saturday. A small satellite designed and developed by them {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(send) into space last Wednesday at Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center {#blank#}5{#/blank#} it was designed to operate in orbit (轨道) for 180 days.

    The Forbidden City in Beijing, home to the Palace Museum, houses more than 1.8 million cultural relics and is one of the world's most visited tourist {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (attract).

    {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (mark) the 600th anniversary of the Forbidden City, the Palace Museum will hold a series of events throughout 2020. Over 20 exhibitions will be held, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (cover) different areas such as history, art, festivals, and so on. For the special occasion, Along the Bian River during the Qingming Festival, one of China's most {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (wide) known masterpieces, will go {#blank#}5{#/blank#} display in September 2020.     During the past few years, the Palace Museum has been working hard to get the public familiar with the history and culture of the Forbidden City. And it seems that these efforts have been paying off, with its popularity reaching a new height.
