Ten Chinese engineers were driving down a road to a National Forest Park. They were {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (sudden) amazed by what they saw. Three tall animals, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (cover) with long black hair, were crossing the road. On {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (see) the animals, the engineers immediately stopped and ran after them. However, when they saw {#blank#}4{#/blank#} move through the forest with great speed and strength, they did not dare to follow any {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (far).

    The men did not take any photographs but scientists were delighted by the{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (discover), because the engineers are all well educated people and scientists feel they can rely {#blank#}7{#/blank#}what they described.

    Scientists returned to the forest, collected some hair and measured footprints, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} are about 20 inches. They appear to be the animals' feet! Chinese scientists have now set up a special group to exchange information and made a study of the forest, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} in the meantime, some people refuse to believe that this half-man, half-monkey {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (exist). They will not believe it until one of the animals has been caught.

    Big Ben is one of London's best-known landmarks, which is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} nickname of a bell hanging in the clock tower at the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (north) end of the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London. Since August 2017, repair work is being done on the clock, which will take four years. For the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (safe) of those doing this work, Big Ben no longer rings out every hour. It will still be heard {#blank#}9{#/blank#} special occasions, such as the New Year and Remembrance Day.

    The Elizabeth Tower has become one of the most important {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (symbol) of the United Kingdom and is often in the establishing shot of films set in London.

    Chinese President Xi Jinping has praised a group of middle school students for their efforts in satellite design. He said he was pleased with their curiosity and bravery in {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (science) exploration. The president also wished the teachers and students in Bayi School {#blank#}2{#/blank#} happy new year.

    Xi made the praise in a letter {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (write) to the students in Beijing's Bayi School on Saturday. A small satellite designed and developed by them {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (send) into space last Wednesday at Taiyuan Satellite Launch (发射) Center {#blank#}5{#/blank#} it was designed to operate in orbit (轨道) for 180 days.
