I'm a primary school student. My name is Zhao Lei. I think most animals are very lovely. We often see dogs, cats, ducks, and geese in our life. We can see many other animals at the zoo. I often go to the zoo to see animals with my family. I like tigers and giraffes. I like giraffes' neck very much. It is very long. My father and mother like lions and monkeys. My little brother likes snakes. I don't like it. Snakes are very scary. I am very afraid of them. But my brother isn't afraid of snakes. He can catch a snake. Animals are our friends. We should love animals.

    Winter is a beautiful season. My favourite season is winter. It's often snowy in many countries. And the outside is white. In winter, the days are shorter. And the nights are longer. It often gets dark very early. But I like snow, so I often go skiing(滑雪) on Sundays with my family. When it snows, everything turns white. There is thick snow on roads, streets, trees and houses. It's a beautiful world! My friends and I like making snowmen. Sometimes we play with snow. It's very interesting and exciting.

    It is a sunny winter day. Tim is going skating on the lake. Tim puts on his skates. He does not see the sign. Tim skates on the ice. It is fun. Suddenly he fall down the water. The dog crawls slowly to Tim. He takes Tim's jacket in his teeth. He pulls him out of the water. Finally a man finds them. He calls 911. The ambulance comes. Tim is safe. The dog is a hero. His picture is in the newspaper.

    Sam is a clever boy. He often plays sports on the weekend. Sometimes he goes on a picnic with his friends. His favourite month is August, because he has a summer vacation. He can eat ice cream, swim, and play games with friends on summer vacation. But his sister Sarah doesn't like August. She likes July best, because her birthday is in July. Sarah likes winter best. Because she likes snow, and she can make a snowman in winter.

    There are four people in Mr Clark s family. The Clarks get up early every day. In the morning, Mr Clark goes to work. Sandy and Sue go to school. Their mother stays at home to do housework. At noon, Sandy and Sue have their lunch at school. In the afternoon, Sandy and Sue go back home. They usually get home at about 4 o'clock. In the evening, they do their homework. Mr Clark often reads newspapers. Mrs Clark cooks for them. After dinner, they watch TV and eat some fruit.

    There was an old man known as the Foolish Old Man (Yu Gong). His house was in the big mountains. Two big mountains stood in front of his house. Every day, when he went to the farm, he had to take a lot of time to get out of the mountains.

    One day, Yu Gong called all his family together to talk about how to move the two mountains to other places. Then they began to break rocks and dig earth. They carried the rocks and earth in baskets to the seaside of Bohai.

    Later the Heavenly God, upon learning of Yu Gong's story, was greatly touched. He then ordered another god to come down and take the two high mountains away.
