Black or White

    When I was in elementary school, I got into an argument with a boy in my class. The teacher  1 to teach us a very important lesson.

    She brought us up to the front of the 2 and placed him on one side of her desk and 3 on the other. In the middle of her desk was a large, round object. I could 4 see that it was black. She asked the boy what color the object was. "White," he 5.

    I have never  15 the lesson I learned that day. Sometimes we need to look at the problem from the other person's viewpoint in order to truly understand his / her view.

    Jeff is fifteen now, but he's still in Grade One. He likes playing1, he often plays it with his friends, but he does not like to use his head. He does not listen to his2in class, so he can not do his homework. His teachers don't like him. They tell his parents3it, and they do not know what to do.

    Have you heard of the Great Wall? It is one of the  1  wonders in the world. Every year thousands of  2 from all over the world come to visit this place of  3  in China.

    Last Saturday, I went to the Great Wall with some of my friends. It was a  4  day. On our way up, we saw many volunteers standing in the sun. They helped  5  with their bags. And they also helped some visitors  6 photos. They were very tired, but they didn't stop to have a rest. We were  7 when we saw this.

    Just at that time, we saw a little boy standing alone and crying. We went over and asked what happened  8 him. From his answer, we knew that he couldn't  9  his mother. We told him not to worry about it and then we tried to call his mother with the phone number he gave us. Twenty minutes  10  , his mother  11 . A little boy wants to meet God (上帝), so he starts his trip with some cakes and orange juice. On his way, he sees an old 1 sitting in the park. The boy sits down next to her. The old lady looks 2 , so he gives her a cake. She 3 it thankfully and smiles (微笑) at him. Her smile is so beautiful! The boy wants to see it again, 4 he gives her a bottle of orange juice. Once again she smiles at him. The boy is very happy! They sit there all 5 . They eat and smile, but they never say a word.

One day a man saw an old lady standing by her expensive car, clearly in need of help. So he stopped his old truck and got out. Although he was smiling, the old lady was worried. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe.

The man could see that she was frightened, so in his friendliest voice he said. "I'm here to help you, madam. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson."Bryan quickly fixed the car and the lady thanked him. Then she asked how much she should pay him.

But Bryan wanted no money. He was just giving a hand to someone in trouble. This was normal for him. He said, "If you really want to repay me, next time you see someone in need, help them and hink of me."

After saying goodbye, the lady continued down the road until she reached a small café where she decided to stop for something to eat. As the pretty waitress took her order, the lady noticed she was nearly eight months pregnant. Although the waitress looked tired she was very kind. As the lady was going to pay the $10 bill she remembered Bryan's words.

She paid with a hundred-dollar bill. But when the waitress returned with the change the lady was gone. On the table she saw a small note. There were tears in her eyes when she read it, "Somebody once helped me the way I'm helping you. If you want to pay me back, continue being kind to others." Under the note were nine more $100 bills.

Was the old lady an angel? The waitress was so excited that she called her husband to tell him the news. "Bryan Anderson my dear... you're not going to believe what just happened..."
