    I can't swim so I have a strong fear of water. Look back at my childhood, I think that three reasons might explain fear. Firstly, I am not allowed to go near the water when I was a child, as my mother had an unreasonable fear of it. Therefore, I was taught to see to the water as something danger. Secondly, my eyes became bad when I was five. If I took off my glass in the water, I couldn't see something, and this increased my fear. What's worse, for a child I once saw a neighbor drowned.     A college graduate was new in the job and she found something really strange. One of her colleague was a lazy man, who usually played his digital camera or listen to music during working time. To her surprised, the boss never blamed him because his behavior.

    I often quarrel with my mother over if I can watch TV after school. She holds the view that high school students has to make full use of every minute to work hard at their lesson. It seems to her that once I am allowed to do that, I'll be unable to control myself and forgot all about my study. I also thinks watching TV is bad for my eyes. But I really can't accept her ideas. In my opinion, watching TV can make my mind to have a rest after a day's hardly work. Beside, it is important for us to know what has happened home and abroad.     To be a volunteer is a great pleasure. Last Sunday, I get up early because I was so excited to sleep any longer. In morning, we arrived at the Happing Nursing Home. How happily the old people were when they saw us! Then we cleaned the windows or swept the floor for them, some of us gave some performances to them, such as sing songs and dancing. When it was time for us volunteers to leave, we were grateful for our kindness. From this meaningful activity, I have realized that we are supposing to care for the old. In our daily life, we should offer our seat to them on buses and treat our own grandparents more kindly. I sincerely hope more people will join in us.

    Being a senior student, I like English more than any other subject. Besides take English lessons at school, I go to the English Corner in the park where is near my home on Saturday mornings. It was set up two years ago, for purpose of helping students make progresses in English. Many high school students regular gather there. Sometimes some college students or even foreign friends are present at the English Corner. Here we practice spoken English, talking about what we are interested in and sharing with our experience in learning English. My English had been greatly improved since I attended them for the first time.
