Albert Einstein was a German-born physicist. Most people 1 know him as the most intelligent person who ever lived. His name has become part of many 2 when we want to say someone is a genius, as in the phrase,"She's a real Einstein". He must have been pretty brainy to 3 the Theory of Relativity and the equation  E=mc².

In 1999,‘Time' magazine named Einstein as the Person of  the Century. No one could have guessed this would happen when  he was at school. He was extremely4 in science but hated the system of learning by heart. He said it destroyed learning and      creativity. He had already done many experiments, but 5 the entrance exams(入学考试) to a technical college.

He didn't let this setback(挫折) stop him. When he was 16, he performed his 6 experiment of imagining traveling      alongside a beam of light. He eventually 7 from university, in 1900, with a degree in physics. Twelve years later he was a university professor8 in 1921, he won the Nobel Prize for Physics. He went on to publish over 300 scientific papers.

Einstein is the only scientist to become a cult figure(崇拜对象), a household name, and part of everyday 9 . He once joked that when people stopped him in the street, he always replied,"Pardon me, sorry! Always I am mistaken for Professor Einstein."  Today, he is seen as the typical mad, absent-minded professor, who just happened to 10 our world.

All in all, I am glad to have such a wonderful cousin.

"Sure!" said Julie. Since then, studying history has become much {#blank#}10{#/blank#} for Julie. After all, what she needs to do is to find what she is good at and make full use of it. 

It took five tries and forty years for Xia Boyu, an amazing climber, to get to the top of the world.

On his first Qomolangma try in 1975, Xia got frostbite(冻疮) and had to have his feet—and later legs—amputated (截肢).

Xia went back again in 2014, 2015 and 2016. On that last try a strong snowstorm forced him to turn back less than 100 meters from the top.

"It's been a dream of mine for more than 40 years," Xia said. In 2018 Xia finally realized his dream, making him the first Chinese double amputee to summit(登顶) Qomolangma. "This time after 43 years, Qomolangma accepted me, finally," he said.

"Climbing the highest mountain in the world with prosthetics (假体) adds another level of difficulty, because it is difficult to feel the ground. Whatever you are standing on, what kind of roads you walk on, whether it is good or bad, they do not give you any feelings. You have to learn it day-to-day, to find the feeling," said Xia. He also said he had to use his body to keep balance as prosthetics cannot walk up and down like real legs. "I have to be stronger than others," he added.

"I have learned from my journey to the top that you should move forward bravely no matter what conditions you face. Never give up on your dream," said Xia.
