Chinese tennis player Zheng Qinwen has made Olympic history. She became the first Chinese player to win an Olympic tennis singles gold medal on August 3rd, 2024. Now she is known as "Queen Wen" online. 

The 21-year-old tennis star was born in a sports family in Shi Yan, China. When she was a child, she liked exercising. When she went out with her father, she always walked or ran instead of taking the bus. She said, "Walking and running are good exercise. They make me healthy. And I can attend(参加) the Olympics when I'm older. "At the age of eight, her father took her to Beijing to watch the Olympics, she showed great interest in tennis. After getting back, she left home and began to train tennis in Wu Han. "My father, I didn't see him for more than one year because during my childhood I didn't have much time to spend with the family together. " Zheng Qinwen shared. 

One of her biggest inspiration(激励) was tennis legend Li Na. Li Na became the first Chinese player to win Grand Slam Singles title(大满贯单打冠军) in 2011. Zheng told the Tennis Channel how important it was for her. "Li Na won her first Grand Slam and I started thinking, ‘Oh, Asian (亚洲) players can also do something good in tennis. ' And then I think that she put a little seed(种子) in my heart that I also want to do it. I want to be like her, even better. " She was also inspired by one of the greatest tennis players Roger Federer, playing at the 2008 Beijing Games. 

Zheng made her first WTA(国际女子网球协会) debut in 2021. She broke into(闯进)the top 100 in 2022. Since then, she has made a Grand Slam final and ranked(排名) as high as No. 7 in the world. And with her winning at the Olympic, more and more Chinese begin to play tennis.
