In January,2020, the OVID-19 (新冠肺炎) hit Wuhan and other cities in China. There is a general fear of the unknown virus (病毒) as its full effects remain to be seen. Fever, coughing, sore throat, difficulty breathing- the COVID-19's symptoms (症状) are similar to the common cold or the flu (流感), but it's potentially (潜在地) more dangerous. Most people who were infected (被感染) with the COvID-19 suffered from a fever first.
Don't be afraid. Here is some advice to help you protect yourself when it comes.
Don't go to the crowded places with lots of people. In these places virus can be spread easily and quickly.
Wash your hands. You need to wash your hands with soap and hot water before you eat, after you use the toilet, and after you touch animals, because your hands may carry viruses.
Cover your nose and mouth. When someone sneezes (打喷嚏) or coughs, viruses can travel as far as one meter through the air, so you'd better keep a proper distance (距离) while talking to someone. And always cover your mouth and nose with a piece of paper when you sneeze or cough, and then clean your hands.
Wear a mask (口罩). Some doctors say that masks can stop the flu as much as 80%, but if you don't wash your hands often, it's no use wearing a mask. And it's necessary to wear the mask in the groups of people.
Do sports often. Exercises will help make your body strong enough to resist (抵抗) the virus.
Do you feel guilty(内疚的) for something you did? Maybe you made a mistake that hurt someone. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Either way, the simple words "I'm sorry" can help you and others feel better. It's not always easy to admit(承认) what you did is wrong. But you can't learn from your mistakes without admitting them.
Apologizing(道歉) is an important part of personal growth. When you apologize, the other person knows that you understand his feelings. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} But in fact, it shows that you are strong enough to put others before yourself. After apologizing, you may become closer to your friend than before.
But even after you decided to apologize, you may not be sure how to do it. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}
①Show that you feel guilty and understand how the other person feels. For example, you could say, "{#blank#}4{#/blank#} I feel terrible for talking to you like that."
②Don't keep doing what you apologized for.
③Don't put off(推迟) making an apology.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}
Apologies can be hard, but they are necessary for healthy relationships.
A. I'm sorry that I shouted at you. B. Here are some suggestions for you. C. Say you're sorry as soon as you realize(发觉) you should. D. You may fear that apologizing makes you look weak. E. Or maybe you chose to do a wrong thing out of anger. |
