Few people would even think of beginning a new job at the age of 76, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} one of America's most famous artists did just that.Anna Mary Robertson, better known as “Grandma Moses”， turned to painting {#blank#}2{#/blank#} she was too old to work on her farm.

Grandma Moses was crazy about painting soon after she picked it up and worked hard at it.She painted {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (care) and her works were nice.She first painted only to please {#blank#}4{#/blank#}， and then began to sell her works {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a little money.In 1993, a collector, Louis Caldor happened to see several of Grandma Moses' works {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (hang) in a shop.He liked them, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (buy) them at once, and set out to look for {#blank#}8{#/blank#}．Caldor held {#blank#}9{#/blank#} show to introduce the works of Grandma Moses to other artists. Grandma Moses, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} was world­famous, died on December 13, 1961, at the age of 101.

    For thousands of years, fishes {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (feed) the people of Peru. It was only when the industrial fishing boats got started in {#blank#}2{#/blank#}1950s that people lost interest in the fish. Modern fishery turned most of its catch into fishmeal(鱼饲料) for feeding other animals. In fact, most of the fish {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (catch) yearly around the world are for use other than eating, and 90% of them are {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (perfect) good to eat.

    White is a researcher at the University of British Columbia and he spent years {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(research) into fishery catches around the world. According {#blank#}6{#/blank#} his study, about 27% of ocean fish which were caught became fishmeal or fish oil. Those products were used to feed farmed fish or used in agriculture.

    “There could be a {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (good) use of these fish,” says White. Instead of feeding fish to fish, the fish could feed people, especially those {#blank#}8{#/blank#} need high-quality protein. But the reason why that doesn't happen is a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (combine) of economics and regulations(法规). In many places, a fisherman can get more money if he sells his catch for fishmeal than if he sells it to the locals for {#blank#}10{#/blank#} meals. And in Peru, a change in how fishes are handled could both satisfy the need to feed the people and supply the fishmeal industry.

    Today, Mount Qomolangma's peak is not a lonely place any more. Over 3500 people have{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (successful) climbed the mountain over the past years. Meanwhile, climbers have complained about{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(wait) for hours in the bottlenecks.

    In fact, the dangerous{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(crowd) aren't the only problem. All those climbers need {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(bring) a lot of gear (装置) and much of them ends up being left on the mountains becoming the world's{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (tall) rubbish dump.

    But the good news is{#blank#}6{#/blank#} some mountaineers are overtaking it to clean up Qomolangma. Mountaineers Paul and Eberhard are part of Eco Everest Expedition which has been cleaning up rubbish since 2008.So far they{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(collect)over 13 tons of garbage.

    Some of that rubbish is even being used for{#blank#}8{#/blank#} higher purpose. As part of the Mount Everest 8844 Art Project, a group of 15 artists Nepal collected 1.5 tons of garbage. They've changed the cans and oxygen tanks into74 piece of art that have are exhibited{#blank#}9{#/blank#}Nepal's capital. Part of the profit from sales{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (be) available for the Everest Pakeers Association which has helped ole rubbish of the mountain.
