It was the beginning of a new term. As a 1  teacher in that school, I didn't know any of the students. A little girl was standing at the gate of the classroom. She looked very shy.

I walked up to her and2 why she stood there. But she said nothing. Then a boy shouted, “She is from Grade Four, the worst student in her grade.”I looked at the little girl. She didn't seem to be the smart kind. I 3 why her teacher asked her to stay in Grade Three. I took her hand and 4 her into the classroom.

“Sit here. Now you are my student and I'm your teacher,” I said. She still said nothing, but suddenly began to cry.

 I later learnt that her parents died in a car accident. She became sad and didn't like talking to others after that.

 She learnt very   5. I gave her respect(尊重) and never looked down upon (鄙视) her as I know everybody deserves(值得) respect. I helped her after school, and she was making 6   little by little. As time went by, she was not as  7 as before. At the end of the term, she seemed to have forgotten all her sadness. She was not among the best students when she left that school, but  8 , she was not that shy and sad little girl any more.

    After many dangerous experiments on mad dogs, he 8found the answer. Just then a boy who had been badly bitten by a mad dog arrived at his lab. A few days later Pasteur's treatment, the boy got9He did not catch rabies.

    The discovery gave new hope to people in many countries. People sent money to help10the Pasteur Institute in Paris. Today it is one of the world's most famous centers for the research.

    Once a little boy found a caterpillar（蝴蝶幼虫）.One day the caterpillar climbed up a stick and started to create a cocoon（茧）. His mother told him the caterpillar was going to go through a(n) 1 and become a butterfly.

    The little boy watched every day, waiting for the coming out of the butterfly. One day it happened, a small hole 2 in the cocoon and the butterfly started to struggle（挣扎）to come out.     As you go through school life, keep in mind that struggling is an important part of any experience for growth. It is the struggle that cause us to develop our ability to fly.

    It's December 23rd. Class One is having a 1. They sell 2 things at school. Dave sells apples, oranges and pears. Many people 3 his fruit. He makes(赚得) ten dollars a day. Lucy sells 4. She has T-shirts on sale. 5 are her T-shirts, do you know? Oh, her T-shirts are 6 a good price. They are five dollars each. Jane sells 7 things. She has pens and 8 on sale. They are very nice. Her pens are 9 one dollar each. Her notebooks are two dollars each. Jane makes 10 dollars in the morning and five dollars in the afternoon. She makes twelve dollars a day.
