I've dreamed of becoming a writer since I was a teenager. But {#blank#}1{#/blank#}isn't easy to get a book of mine published.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} I've tried hard, none of my books have been published. This is really {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(upset).

    This morning, I received a call from a publisher and {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(tell) once again that there was no way my book would be published.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} ( feel ) sad, I left home and went to the park near my apartment. At the park, I sat down on the bench near the grass.

    While I was sitting there, I saw a little boy about one and a half years old. He was running on the grass,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} his mother not far behind him. Meanwhile, those who are successful and famous have to deal with constant media attention. They are also {#blank#}9{#/blank#} huge pressure to appear young and beautiful. Most actors and models are always on a diet, and many have had painful operations to make their faces and bodies look more attractive. It does not seem that glamorous now, does it? Maybe a career as a local grocer {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(be) a better option.

    Christmas is the most important festival in the western world. It{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(fall) on December 25^th . When my mother and I stayed in America, we{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(invite) by one of my mother's friends to observe Christmas with an American family. We bought some{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(present) for our American friends on our way{#blank#}4{#/blank#} their house.

   They had prepared different kinds of gifts for their family and guests when we got to their house, such as Christmas candles, cakes, cards, little toys, biscuits and so on. After dinner, they told us some interesting stories about Christmas.

    We learned that Christmas had something to do with Jesus. We went to bed at midnight{#blank#}7{#/blank#} we knew the Santa Claus was not true, we were still waiting for the Santa Claus{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(bring) us presents. And we received many beautiful presents the next morning.

    This Christmas was really {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(forgettable). Not only {#blank#}10{#/blank#} I have a good time, but also I knew something about foreign culture.

    Sheryl dropped the heart-painted rock into my bag, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (say), “There's no charge for this. I want to give it you! ”

    Her loving energy had attracted me {#blank#}2{#/blank#} her display at the artisan's PopLocal party like a bee to a flower.     From her pocket she pulled a sweet little rock. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (paint) like a bee, with the words “bee kind” on the back. “I paint and give these! ” she shared. “They are in so many {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (country) now, even one at the Great Wall of China! ”

    I asked if I could take some photos. I saw Sheryl's smile, and it just lit {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (she) whole fact. It just occurred to me that earlier in the day I gave away a heart-shaped “worry stone” and now I {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (give) a rock with a heart painted lovingly on it.

    Now entering adulthood and soon to join the workforce, Generation Z grew up in a special period of time when technology developed fast and the Internet became{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (universe).

    It {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (believe) that Generation Z is the generation that is going to shape our future,{#blank#}4{#/blank#} is why policy makers are trying{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (he) best to understand these young people. Most people agree that biggest difference between Generation Z and other generations is how connected they are. This is a group of people who have been familiar{#blank#}6{#/blank#} social media as soon as they came to the world. It may be true that Generation Z-ers have a shorter attention span(持续时间){#blank#}7{#/blank#} a goldfish does, but since they grew up among social changes, they are more active in{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (political).
