The adobe dwellings (土坯房)  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  （build）by the Pueblo Indians of the AmericanSouthwest are admired by even  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} most modern of architects and engineers. In addition to their simple beauty, what makes the adobe dwellings admirable is their  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (able) to “air condition” a house without  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}( use) electric equipment. Walls made of adobe take in the heat from the sun on hot days and give out that heat   {#blank#}5{#/blank#}( slow) during cool nights, thus warming the house. When a new day breaks, the walls have given up their heat and are now cold enough  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(cool) the house during the hot day;{#blank#}7{#/blank#} the same time, they warm up again for the night. This cycle       (go) day after day: The walls warm up during the day and cool off during the night and are thus always a timely offset(抵消) for the outside temperatures. As {#blank#}9{#/blank#}  (nature) architects, the Pueblo Indians figured out exactly {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  thick the adobe walls needed to be to make the cycle work on most days.

    Chuck Wall teaches management and human relations at Bakersfield College. He walked into class one day and told his students that their homework was to perform a simple and random act of kindness. Not {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (understand) the homework, the students didn't know what to do. Chuck didn't answer their questions. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, he encouraged his students to work it out by themselves.

    One week later, the students entered the classroom and began sharing their stories {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (excited). One reported on helping a poor dog {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (abandon) by its owner. Another student told others about giving blankets away to the homeless. Gradually, more and more students developed the habit of doing such kind acts, from {#blank#}5{#/blank#} they benefited a lot.

    Since then, similar kind acts {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (perform) in schools around the world. Many schools organize a Random Acts of Kindness Week, around November 13^th, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (celebrate) World Kindness Day. Some schools use each day of Random Acts of Kindness Week to perform a {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (differ) kind act, such {#blank#}9{#/blank#} making a new friend, helping someone, doing community service or raising money for a charity. In this way, students learn to consider other people and think about how small actions can make the world a {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (good) place.

    The Internet is an amazing information resource. Students, teachers, and researchers use it as {#blank#}1{#/blank#}searching tool. Journalists use it {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(find) information for stories. Doctors use it to learn more about unfamiliar diseases and the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(late) medical development. When we are talking about it , it {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (use) by ordinary people for shopping, banking, bill-paying, and communicating with family and friends. It has the magical power to connect one with people from {#blank#}5{#/blank#} countries and cultures. However, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the Internet has many advantages , there are also certain fears and concerns connected with it. One concern relates to a lack of control over {#blank#}7{#/blank#}appears on the Internet. On television and radio there are restrictions (限制）on what kinds of programs can  be broadcast, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} on the Internet it is not the case. Parents cannot determine what is suitable {#blank#}9{#/blank#} their children to see because the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (appear) of any information is not under their control.

    New "Star Wars" Attractions Set to Open at Disney Theme Parks in 2019

The galaxy (银河系) that seems so far, far away just got a little closer.

    On Tuesday, Disney announced "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge", a highly {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (expect) themed land under construction, would open in summer 2019 at California's Disneyland and in late fall 2019 at Florida's Disney World.

    {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the announcement was made, officials had only said the new land would open soon.

    No specific date {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (announce) for the Disneyland opening. But if past summer openings are any indication, "Galaxy's Edge" is expected to open in late June.

The additions will be Disney's {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (big) "single-themed land expansion" ever, according to Disney CEO Bob Iger. Each will be an expansive 14 acres (英亩). A copy of the Millennium Falcon spaceship, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} guests will be able to pilot, will be a key attraction.

    Galaxy's Edge will immerse (使沉浸于) visitors in the Star Wars universe, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (transport) them to a never-before-seen Star Wars planet—a remote trading port largely ignored by warring people and one of the last stops before wild space. This planet is {#blank#}7{#/blank#} Star Wars characters and their stories will come to life. It will feature two major attractions: {#blank#}8{#/blank#} allowing guests to pilot the Millennium Falcon and the other dropping riders into the middle of a battle. The most advanced video techniques are expected to power each attraction.

    Even as Galaxy's Edge {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (approach), Disneyland is making changes, both large and small, in advance. Recent projects have shifted queues for "Dumbo the Flying Elephant" and "It's a Small World". These are the efforts to improve traffic flows near the attractions. Similar changes have been made in Adventureland {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (ease) congestion points. Work has started on a new luxury resort in Downtown Disney. Officials have closed Rainforest Café, ESPN Zone and AMC Theaters to make room.
