We high school students do have some growing pains, but we can get rid of them{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (correct) and wisely. First, some of us are upset about our body style and looks. It's unnecessary and it's not important at all. We needn't care about it. It is one's inner beauty that{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (matter). Second, we sometimes seem to be misunderstood by our teachers, parents and classmates. Faced with this, we can find a proper time to have a heart-to-heart talk with them, trying to remove the misunderstanding. Some of us have fewer friends, I think being open-minded and friendly will do us good. Third, we may fall behind others, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} makes us stressed. Actually we can encourage{#blank#}4{#/blank#} to work efficiently, full of{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (determine). At last, some of us don't have much pocket money, so they feel unhappy. Isn't it strange? So long as we have some, that's enough. And we can learn how to spend money.

    The "One Belt One Road" strategy proposed by President Xi Jinping has drawn public attention to{#blank#}1{#/blank#} oldest and longest trade route—Silk Road. The term in a narrow sense refers to an ancient overland trade route{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(form) in the Western Han Dynasty. This route stretched 4,350 miles from Chang an to western China, central Asia, and even to Europe,{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (enable) theses regions to have better communications in diplomacy, business and culture.

    China was the first country in the world to breed silkworms and produce silk fabric. This craft skill reached a{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(fair) advanced level in the Zhou Dynasty. As a major export to Europe, "silk" was used to name this great route by a German geographer. China's silk{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(introduce) into western countries through this old trade route. People were{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(familiar) with his product at the beginning, and made many guesses at{#blank#}7{#/blank#}it was produced. According to the record, the idea that silk was picked from trees was widely accepted by folks in Europe.

    {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(garment) made of this fabric were always best sellers, and were considered a social status symbol. Ever the gorgeous Egyptian queen, Cleopatra, was also a big fan of the silk. This fascination led to an increasing demand{#blank#}9{#/blank#} this product, and promoted the{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(develop) of this trading route.

    Our trip was fantastic. Every driver and every tour guide{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(be) knowledgeable, and tried to meet our interests and wishes. As Erich practiced his Chinese with them, they responded in English. The locations{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(select) by us were most interesting. Although I am not used{#blank#}3{#/blank#}sub-zero weather,{#blank#}4{#/blank#}was Harbin that I would recommend to any travel lover because it was so unique. All of the sights were unique with so much to offer. If we hadn't gone on the trip to Harbin, we would {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  (have) no chance to enjoy all the sights there then.

    The hotel accommodation was comfortable. We had one experience when the power went off in a block that contained our hotel, but{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(fortunate), the power was restored within a few hours. The restaurants were as unique as the areas{#blank#}7{#/blank#}we went and a Chinese cuisine was enjoyed by all four. Our guides made certain that our meal was ready and to our{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (tasty).

    If our son and daughter-in-law stay another year, we will discuss a repeat visit next year around the same time. As Erich and Caitlin are students at an in ternational university in Tianjin, the trip revolves around their academic schedules. We are quite pleased with the nice{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (serve) provided by the relevant people {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(show) our friends and family we have taken lots of photos and videos.

    Xie Lei, a Chinese student studying in Britain, shared her progress in both study and life. It was the first time she {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (leave) her motherland. On arriving in London, she lived with a host family, in {#blank#}2{#/blank#} they always helped her. It's {#blank#}3{#/blank#} great comfort for her. And she is halfway through her {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (prepare) year, which is a must for any student before entering a degree course. But she found {#blank#}5{#/blank#} difficult to get used to the academic requirements of a western university, because she got an E for her first essay. When she asked the reason for the tutor's revision, the tutor said that she couldn't write {#blank#}6{#/blank#} other people said without {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (acknowledge) them and encouraged her to express her own ideas.

    Now Xie Lei feels much more at home in England. In other words, she adapts {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the new environment well. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (hopeful), she is going to join a few {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (club) to make friends and have a balance between study and a social life.

    Li Hua and Wang Hai are two students of Senior One. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}of them work hard but they have various learning methods.

    Li Hua listens to her teachers{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(attentive) and asks her teacher {#blank#}3{#/blank#}help as soon as possible if she has some problems. Because of this, she spends less time {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(do) her homework, so it is certain {#blank#}5{#/blank#} she can keep energetic in the day. However, Wang Hai has quite a{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (difference) way of learning{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (compare) to Li Hua. He likes to sit up late at night doing his homework, so he often feels sleepy in class. As a result, he misses lots of key points, {#blank#}8{#/blank#}makes it difficult for him{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (concentrate) on what he is doing.

    In my opinion, Li Hua learns more effectively in class and she{#blank#}10{#/blank#} be a better learner. So I prefer her learning method.
