A proverb says, "Time is money". But in my opinion, time is even {#blank#}1{#/blank#} precious than money. Why？{#blank#}2{#/blank#} when money is spent, we can earn it back. However, when time is {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（go） , it will never return. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} is known to all that the time we can use is limited. Therefore we should make {#blank#}5{#/blank#} use of our time to study hard so as to serve our country in {#blank#}6{#/blank#} future. But it is a pity that there are a lot of people {#blank#}7{#/blank#} do not realize the value of time. They waste their precious time smoking, drinking and playing. In {#blank#}8{#/blank#} word, we should form the good habit of {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (save) time. Do not put off what can be done today {#blank#}10{#/blank#} tomorrow.

    In Chinese culture, each year is related to {#blank#}1{#/blank#}Chinese animal according to the 12-year cycle. 2018 is an Earth Dog Year. People born during the year of dog {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (believe) to take after some of the animal's characteristics, such as loyalty, patience, and reliability.

    Zodiac(黄道) theory also relates to Chinese elemental theory，{#blank#}3{#/blank#}associates the 12 animals with one of five elements :metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. The five elements {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (combine) with the 12 zodiac signs produce a 60-year cycle. Zodiac animals have both fixed and non-fixed elements attached {#blank#}5{#/blank#}them. For example, the dog (as well as the dragon, ox, and goat) is always associated with the earth element{#blank#}6{#/blank#}the year of 2018 is considered an earth year according to the Chinese solar calendar, those born in 2018 are considered earth dogs, which carry characteristics like being communicative and responsible at work. Though dogs are{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (general ) associated with earth, those born during the metal dog year are believed to be conservative and{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (caution) in nature. As Dogs are not good at communication, it is difficult for them to convey their{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(think) to others. Therefore, Dogs tend to leave others with the impression that they have a stubborn {#blank#}10{#/blank#} ( personal) , but they are indeed loyal to their families and friends.

    In 1940, four teenage boys and their dog were walking through woodland close to Lascaux, when their dog suddenly disappeared. The boys searched all around. They came to a cave and looked into the cave{#blank#}1{#/blank#} could see nothing.

    A few days later, the boys returned to the cave. They could hardly believe {#blank#}2{#/blank#}eyes. In the weak lamplight, the boys saw red horses and cows, and black bulls and deer charging across the walls of the cave, which looked so {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(frighten) that the boys jumped back in fear. Little did the boys know that they had made one of the most important{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(discover) of that century.

    The Famous Lascaux Caves consist of a large hole and{#blank#}5{#/blank#} series of connecting caves, with a natural water system. The paintings there were an especially important find because they are so numerous and so well preserved. After a few years, the caves were opened{#blank#}6{#/blank#} a tourist attraction, and 1,200 people per day came to the site{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(admire) the paintings{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (fortunate), many visitors resulted in changes in the cave's atmosphere, and green algae (水藻) began to grow around the walls. Since then, the caves {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(close) to the public in an effort to conserve the fragile paintings in this precious underground site.

    Today, the caves have computer-controlled air-conditioning and are inspected daily. Scientists hope that these precautions will prevent any{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(far) damage to the paintings.

    Strange things happened {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Tangshan Earthquake happened. The well walls had deep cracks. A smelly gas came out of them. The water pipes {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (crack) and burst. At 3:42  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the morning of July 28, 1976, everything began to shake. It seemed as if the world was at {#blank#}4{#/blank#} end. Steam burst from holes in the ground. Hard hills of rock became rivers of  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  (dirty). Soon the whole city lay in {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(ruin). Many people died or were {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (injure). Everything in the city was destroyed. People were {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (shock) at this and wondered how long the disaster would last. The army organized teams to dig out those {#blank#}9{#/blank#} were trapped and to bury the dead. Workers built shelters for {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (survive). Fresh water was taken to the city. Slowly the city began to breathe again.
