Today I went to a conference, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} two students had a debate about the strengths and weaknesses of the Internet.

    The first speaker talked about the positive {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (effect) of the Internet on our lives. The first is its value for people who {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (look) for information. For example, with the touch of a button {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the click of a mouse, a student will find abundant information at his or her command. The second is our ability {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (relate) to others through the Internet and it is especially important for disabled people {#blank#}6{#/blank#} can't leave their homes.

    The {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (two) speaker talked about the negative effects of the Internet on our lives. For example, some experts think that the outcome of spending too much time on the Internet ii difficulty in {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (form) social bonds. They were also quite explicit about how heavy Internet users spend {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (much) time with their Internet friends than their real-life friends from school and work.

    Both sides presented lots of statistics to support their arguments. My own judgment is that though the Internet is. {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (benefit), we should use our intelligence and not be a slave to it!

    Going to museums has become a trendy thing to do during the holidays in China. A popular choice this Spring Festival was the Palace Museum,{#blank#}1{#/blank#}a special exhibition was staged to provide a virtual royal experience for visitors. He works 16 hours every week either receiving calls at the information desk, or helping push patients back to their wards (病房).

    We were studying Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet in the class. Each of us {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (require) to play a scene from the play, and I {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (joke) asked to play the nurse. How the classmates responded aroused my interest. They thought I, a guy, couldn't play the nurse.     Today I will share a true story about an overseas student {#blank#}1{#/blank#}studied in Germany.

    After years of hard work, this student graduated with{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(amaze) achievements. Everyone was sure that he was going to get a good job {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(easy) and have a bright future. But to his surprise, he was not even given the chance for {#blank#}4{#/blank#}interview! It was the third time that he{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(refuse), he couldn't help{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (telephone) the company to ask why they didn't want him. The answer was simple. "We don't offer jobs to dishonest people in Germany."

    You might wonder what was wrong. The truth is, shortly after he{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(arrive) in Germany, this clever student found that{#blank#}8{#/blank#}was easy to skip(逃票) buying subway tickets in this country. So in order to save money, he often went in the subway without a ticket. As a result, he had been caught without a ticket many times.

    From this story, we learn that we may get short-term benefits（好处）in dishonest ways, {#blank#}9{#/blank#}the truth will come out sooner or later and the cost is high. So remember that{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(honest) may lead to failure. We must be honest. It is a rule.
