"Today I will give you a special test," said the English teacher with a smile on his face.

All the students set up straight and 1 for the test to begin. The teacher began to give the test papers to all the students. After he handed out the test papers, he asked them to 2.

The students felt very strange to see that there was not a question but a black dot(圆点)in the centre of the paper. The teacher said with a smile, "I want you to 3 what you see there." At the end of the class, the teacher took all the students' papers and read the answers. All of them wrote about the black dot. Health problems which are related to climate change are getting worse, say two research reports.

The report s followed 44 health problems that are related to climate change around the world. They include heat deaths, infectious diseases（传染病）and hunger. "All of them are getting worse," said Marina Remanello. She is research director of the Lancet Countdown project. "With global worming getting worse, doing nothing on climate and health will cost more than acting now, one of the reports says.

The reports are called "code red for a healthy future". One report is centred（集中）on the US and the other is centred on the whole world. The reports found some dangerous facts. At-risk populations like older people and the very young are more easily influenced by high temperatures. For people over 65, the researchers found they stayed living in warm places where it is easier for some diseases to spread. For example, coast areas are warm enough for dangerous bacteria （细菌）to grow. In some poor nations me season for disease-spreading mosquitoes（蚊子）has got longer since the 1950s.

The research also found that 72 percent of countries saw an increase in wildfires. And in 2020, up to 10 percent of the world's land surface was influenced by extreme（极端的）drought. In the US, the heat. fire and drought caused the biggest problems. The Pacific Northwest and Canada saw extreme neatwaves. An earlier study found that the heatwaves would not have happened if there were no human-caused climate change.

Class One was having a meeting. The students were having a discussion in the classroom. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}were they talking about? The topic was the best invention in our normal life. Tom thought the clock was the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} useful. It could tell the time exactly. W{#blank#}3{#/blank#} the clock, we didn't know when to leave for school. Maria showed us a crayon on the desk. It could be used {#blank#}4{#/blank#} draw beautiful pictures. So it was helpful. Peter preferred computers. He said that the world {#blank#}5{#/blank#} connected together by computers through the internet. We could get the information far away in a minute. There were also tiny computers inside the patients, bodies. These computers were used {#blank#}6{#/blank#}treating illnesses. Lily was certain that the robots were important. The robots {#blank#}7{#/blank#} worked in the factories helped people perform different tasks. It's no doubt that all of above changed our habits, they make us work and live more comfortably. P{#blank#}8{#/blank#}in the future we can invent something for ourselves. I'm sure we have the ability to be a real inventor.

It is Saturday, but I go to school as usual. I go to play football. I am in our school team and we are going to play against another school next week. 

The practice starts at 10 a. m. We all arrive as early as we can so that we have time to warm up. We are training harder than usual because the other team beat (打败) us last year. This year we want to do better. 

It is more difficult to practise in winter because the days are short and the weather is cold, too. It gets dark earlier, so it is important not to be late for after- school practice. 

Our coach (教练) is happy because we are playing better as a team now. Last year we were sometimes careless when we passed the ball and we lost (输) to the other team in the final match. What a pity! This year we are training more carefully. That means we have a better chance of winning, 

The fan club has fewer people this year. We hope to play well so that we have more fans to watch the matches. It is good to have our fans around. They cheer us on loudly and we feel more confident to win the game. 

Jennifer was born in Romania without legs. She was given up at birth by her natural parents. Later, Jennifer was taken to a loving American family, the Brickers, and raised in the small town of Hardinville, Illinois. 

Although she was born without legs, her family never let this keep her from realising her dreams. Her parents made one simple rule for her — never say"Ican't. " They helped her live an encouraging life. The Brickers raised her just like they raised their other three sons. She was taught to never consider her disability as a disadvantage. So, she grew up playing many sports, including volleyball, softball and basketball. 

But her true interest was gymnastics(体操). She liked Olympic gold medalist Dominique Moceanu most. She watched her on TV while practising tumbling(单跳). 

As she grew older, Jennifer began competing against other players in gymnastics competitions around Illinois. Not only did she compete, but she even went on to win a gold me dal in power tumbling. And she took part in the Junior Olympics. Jennifer and her family always believed she could do whatever she wanted. Her right attitude(态度), hard work and strong will made this real. 

If her story was not amazing enough already, when Jennifer was 16, she discovered the most unbelievable news of her life. She learned that her favourite gymnast, Dominique Moceanu, was actually her biological sister! Now, Jennifer tours the country and gives encouraging speeches.
