Long long ago, there was a very old man called Yu Gong. There were two {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Near his house. They were so high and big that it took a{#blank#}2{#/blank#} time to walk to the other side.The old man told his family that they should help him to move the mountains.
    Yu Gong and his family kept on digging day after day and year after year. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} a god was so moved {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Yu Gong that he sent two gods to take the mountains away.
    This story reminds us that you can never know what will happen {#blank#}5{#/blank#} you don't try to do it．

    Every summer Carol travels a lot by herself and visits new places. Last August she had a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} vacation, so she was on a tour of four countries in Europe. Europe was beautiful but her vacation wasn't very nice. She was in each country only for three days. She visited too many museums and was always {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. After her vacation she was tired and bored. This summer she is going to spend her vacation in a   {#blank#}3{#/blank#} way. She is going to travel to one country in Asia with friends and visit only one city. They will stay there for seven days and they are going to choose a city near the sea {#blank#}4{#/blank#} they can go swimming and have picnics on the beach. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a happy journey it must be!

    Grandma was a kind and loving woman. At the age of 16, she married a 40-year-old man. But she{#blank#}1{#/blank#}her husband one year later. Luckily, she had a son.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}, her son died, too. By the age of 25, she lost everyone in her family.

    Since then, Grandma had concentrated her life on adopting(收养) the homeless{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. I was one of them. Last year, my grandma was 83 years old. When she heard I would get married, she was very{#blank#}4{#/blank#}and said she would take care of my kid, too. But one night, she had a fall and{#blank#}5{#/blank#}her right hand badly. All she could do is to sit quietly. It made us feel sad because we used to see her doing all the{#blank#}6{#/blank#}by herself.

    There was hardly a month left for my wedding. Grandma became very{#blank#}7{#/blank#} because she was afraid if she would see the wedding. All of us said that she could be the{#blank#}8{#/blank#} person to bless(祝福)me at the wedding.

    Sadly, several days{#blank#}9{#/blank#}the wedding, Grandma died. At my wedding, we had to put a(n){#blank#}10{#/blank#}in front of me and my husband. With tears in my eyes, I said nothing. I knew I would have my dear Grandma's blessing forever!

    When I was young, I liked to play jokes on others, especially on my parents and {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. One day my mother was cooking while I was playing with my younger brother Tony. Suddenly I ran to my mother and said, "Tony fell off the open window!" She quickly rushed out of the{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. Then I said, "Don't worry, I'm just joking." My mother shouted at me{#blank#}3{#/blank#}, "I'll punish you{#blank#}4{#/blank#} you do it again."

    Another day, 1 went swimming with my friends in the sea. I wanted to play a joke on{#blank#}5{#/blank#}. I swam{#blank#}6{#/blank#}in front of my friends. Suddenly, I called out "Help!" All my friends came to help me. However, they found that I was joking. But half an hour{#blank#}7{#/blank#}, I wasn't joking. I was so fast, soon I got tired and couldn't swim on in water. I tried my best to call my friends for help, but this time{#blank#}8{#/blank#}came to help me.

    {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the end, they found I was telling the truth. They took me to the hospital and {#blank#}10{#/blank#}my life. This is the best lesson in my life. From then on I haven't joked on anyone.
