There are some special traditions in Hawaii. People there are very friendly and always welcome visitors. They give visitors a lei, a long necklace of beautiful fresh flowers. Men wear bright flowered shirts, and women often wear long flowered dresses.
     In Hawaii you may find some traditional Chinese  Japanese and Philippine holidays  Of course  many holidays are from the United States. People call Hawaii the Aloha State. Aloha means both “hello” and “good--bye”. It also means “I love you ”.
     Usually when people from different countries, races or traditions lives together, there are serious problems. But in Hawaii there are few problems, people have learned to live together in peace.
     Hawaiians earn most of their money from tourists, most of whom come from the mainland and from Japan. The families of the first people who came from the U.S. mainland own the important banks and companies. Japanese are  also starting business and buying more and more land.

    Chinese young people love their smart phones．They play with phone apps every day．But now, a book has let them forget about their phones．The book is called Secret Garden．

    It is a colouring book for adults'．You don't have to read it, because it has almost no words．All the pages are pictures but no colours．You just need to use colour pens to paint it．An artist in Britain made the book．

    The book is now the biggest selling book on amazon．Cn．last month, it sold 25,000 copies in China．Many young people bought this book．They like it so much that they stop playing games or surfing the Internet on their phones．These people are mainly young mothers and workers．It is very difficult to take care of babies or do a good job at first, so they feel a lot of pressure．Drawing the book can help them become less nervous．

    In the past, people thought colouring books are only for children．With Secret Garden getting more and more popular, many young adults also begin to paint as a hobby．

    Different countries have different eating habits.There is a saying “Eat good things for breakfast, eat a big meal for lunch, but eat less at dinner.” in China.Many Americans agree that one should start the day with a good breakfast, but their ideas about lunch and dinner are different.

    Most Americans only give themselves a short time for lunch because they have not so much long time to have a rest at noon. So they eat a small lunch. After work they will have more time to eat a big dinner. Also a quiet dinner at home with all the family talking about their day is a way to take a good rest after a long, hard day of work.

    Eating at restaurants is also different. In China, people like to talk and laugh while eating. Very often you can hear people talking and laughing loudly, and they just having a good time. In America it is not like this. They want a quiet place where they can eat a good meal far away from the noises of the outside world．If someone is talking too loudly, the manager of the restaurant will look at him or her angrily. If some people are talking too loudly, the manager of the restaurant may come out and ask them to be quiet.

    Silk production has a long history and colourful history unknown to most people. Scientific discoveries have shown that silk production began in China around 2,500 B.C., although it could be much older. For hundreds of years, China kept the secret of silk to itself as one for the most closely protected secrets in history. Anyone telling the secret of silkworms or trying to take silkworm eggs out of ancient China was punished in prison.

    At one time silk was served only for the Chinese emperor. Step by step, others began wearing silk. In addition to being used for clothing, silk was used to make musical instruments, fishing lines, ropes and even paper. During the Han Dynasty silk became a form of money.

    However, the Chinese finally lost their monopoly(垄断) on silk production. It reached Korea in around 200 B.C. when some Chinese people arrived there. Silk production came to India in 300 A.D. In 500 A.D., silk production came to Europe when travelers smuggled(偷运) out silkworms in empty pipes of bamboo. These were used to set up silk factories in Rome, although Chinese silk was still considered to be the best.

    Silk was brought to Rome from China by means of the Silk Road. There were actually two Silk Roads, one over land and one on the sea. Especially the land route had a huge effect in history. All sorts of trade goods were passed along this road. Ideas travelled the Silk Road, too. For example, the religion of Buddhism(佛教) was carried to China from India by traders on the Silk Road. The Silk Road created the first international culture, showing many people the ideas and treasures of both Western and Chinese cultures.

    On October 31,2016, an Egyptian (埃及的) university held a Chinese movies week with China Radio International (CRI).

    The first movie Go Lala Go was shown at the Suez Canal University in Ismailia. Ismailia is about 120 kilometers northeast of Egypt's capital Cairo, It was greatly enjoyed by over 100 Egyptian students learning Chinese at Confucius Institute (孔子学院) in the university.

    "I would like to thank the Chinese Cultural Center that gave many books to the university, which are important for our students and for the teaching process. I hope everyone enjoys the movie and understands more about China," said Hassan Ragab, a worker of Confucius Institute.

    An 18-year-oid girl student who studies Chinese expressed admiration (崇敬) for the Chinese movie that depicts a woman's efforts (努力) to achieve success. "Since I study Chinese, it's necessary for me to watch such Chinese movies and get to learn about the culture, habits and traditions," she told Xinhua.

    Zhang Li, director of CRI Middle East headquarters (总部), said, "Many Egyptians told me that they liked watching Chinese movies and they found Egypt and China shared similar (相似的) cultures." She added, "The reason to hold this Chinese movies week is that we want Egyptians to know more about modern China, and we also hope to develop the interest of Egyptian students to learn Chinese."
