    Life of Pi（少年派的奇幻河流）is to become the first 3D film to open the New York film festival. This year's New York film festival runs from September 28 to October 14.

    The director of this movie is Ang Lee, an American Chinese. The movie speaks of the relationship between humans and nature. Indian boy Priscine Patel is troubled by his first name. And his classmates laugh at him. So he decides to change his name to "Pi".

    Pi's father has a zoo and he decides to move to Canada. The family, together with all the zoo animals, sail across the pacific（太平洋）. One day, a huge storm hits the ship. The next morning, Pi finds his family have sunk（沉没）with the ship. He is the only person still alive. He finds himself on a lifeboat with several animals, one of which is a tiger called Richard Parker. Soon, all the animals are killed by the tiger. And Pi is left alone with the tiger.

    As the tiger becomes hungry, Pi starts to fish to feed him. If not, he himself will become the food. The boy and the tiger develop an amazing relationship on the sea. Although he feels hopeless, Pi never gives up. After 227 days, the lifeboat finally lands on a beach in Mexico, but Richard Parker runs away into the forest. The ship company finds Pi and asks him what happened. Pi tells them about Richard Parker, but the company doesn't believe him. Pi then tells another story in which is no tiger.

    Is there really another story? If so, which one is true? Maybe you will have your answer after watching the Life of Pi.

    Several days ago, Brenda had a car accident that led to one of her legs being cut off. Since then she didn't talk to anyone."I wish I could bring her friends to visit her," said Brenda's mother. "But it's a long bus trip." The nurse smiled, "Don't worry. We have a plan."Later that day, the nurse had taken Brenda to another room. "Here's your new roommate, Annie Wiggle-Do," the nurse introduced a dark-hair teenager on the other bed.

    As soon as the nurse left, she jumped out of her bed with her only foot and sat at the other end of Brenda's bed, "I lost my leg from bone cancer," she said. "What happened to yours?" Brenda was so shocked that she couldn't say a word. "You're lucky." Annie continued. "You've still got your knee. They had to take mine."

    "I'd like to have a chat with you, but my friends are coming any time now, so I have to get ready." Annie said when she took off her hair! Her head was completely bald(秃头的).

    "Oh, I forgot to tell you, the medicine they gave me to kill the cancer also killed my hair." Annie looked out her wigs(假发), brown and yellow, short and long, straight and curly."That's why I thought up 'Annie Wiggle-Do'." Annie smiled. "Get it? Any wig will do? Annie Wiggle-Do?" "When Annie's friends came, she introduced Brenda to them all. Before long, Brenda started chatting with Annie and her friends. They didn't make her feel like a strange person at all!

    The girls shared their names with each other. When it was time to go to bed, Brenda said, "Good night, Annie-Wiggle-Do. Can't wait till morning."

    Today is Saturday, but Julie gets up very early. She wants to go to the library. The library is far from her home. Julie has a good breakfast. She has some bread, two eggs and a cup of milk. Then she leaves home and gets to the bus stop.

    Julie gets on the bus at eight. After one and a half hours, she gets to the library. The library is big and clean. There are lots of interesting books in it. Julie reads a storybook there. It's very funny. When it's time for lunch, Julie leaves the library and goes back home. She borrows three books from the library: one English book, one science book and one history book. She wants to read them at home.

    One evening Mr Black was driving his car around the country. He wanted to find a small hotel. Then he saw an old man at the side of the road. He stopped his car and said to the old man, "I want to go to the Sun Hotel. Do you know it?" "Yes, "the old man answered. "I'll show you the way."

    He got into Mr Black's car, and they drove about 12 miles. When they came to a small house, the old man said, "Stop here."

    Mr Black stopped and looked at the house. "But this isn't the hotel, "he said to the old man.

    "No," the old man answered. "This is my house. And I'll show you the way to the Sun Hotel. Turn around and go back nine miles. Then you'll see the Sun Hotel on the left."

    Seven students live together in a large, bright room. The school wants students to learn to live together and think for others. Four counselors take care of them during the daytime. At least one counselor is on duty at all times.

    During the night, one counselor is on duty. In the morning, he or she helps the children get ready for school, have breakfast and go to their classroom.

    Young people learn to live together in the group. They learn about others, and they learn about themselves by watching others.
