My name is Paul Miller. I was too fat before, but now I do not have this problem. My doctor tells me to jog(慢跑). So early every morning I run for two miles before breakfast. I do not run fast, but I do not stop to rest.

    People call me a jogger. There are many joggers on my street. We often run together in the park or along the road. Jogging helps to keep us strong and healthy.

    Jogging is very popular in the United States. People like to feel well and look nice. Some people do not jog, but they do not get fat. They work hard on their jobs and they do not need to run before they go to work.

    Do you want to jog? Go to your doctor first. Your doctor can tell you something about jogging. My doctor tells me to eat only three meals a day. I feel healthy and my doctor is happy because I jog every day and I do not eat anything before or after meals.

    Mr. Coates works in an office in Brighton, England.  One Saturday, he went to the office to do some work. When he got on the lift, it stopped between floors. Mr. Coates could not get out of the lift. He started to shout, but no one heard him. Then Mr. Coates remembered that it was a holiday in England. No one was going to come to work until Tuesday! There was nothing for Mr. Coates to do. He had to wait. With nothing to eat or drink, Mr. Coates slept for most of the time. Early on Tuesday morning, his workmates came into work and found the lift was not working. When the lift was opened, Mr. Coates came out. He was cold, weak, and tired.     As a rule, we have a test about some usual things in our life every two months. During my second month of nursing school, our teacher gave us a pop test as usual.

    I was a serious, hard-working and careful student, so I passed the questions easily until I read the last one, "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"

When I got to his house, I saw his wife and the first thing she asked was if I had found a wallet. I started smiling and said yes. The lady was really happy and called her husband. He ran to us at the gate and welcomed me to their house. After giving the wallet to him, he checked to see whether everything was inside. They offered me 20 dollars for gasoline(汽油) but I refused.

    Little Peter is a boy of nine. He began to go to school when he was six, and now he is in Grade Three. He lives not far from the school, but he is often late for class. He likes watching TV in the evening and goes to bed late, so he can't get up on time in the morning.

    This term, Mrs. Black, Peter's aunt, teaches music in Peter's school. She is strict (严格的) with Peter and often tells the boy to obey the school rules and come to school on time. He was the son of Venus, the goddess of love. He shoots people with arrows (箭) of love. When a man and a woman are hit by his arrows, they will fall in love.

Today people celebrate Valentine's Day on February 14. If a man and a woman are in love, they will give each other gifts. The most popular gifts are flowers (especially roses) and chocolates. Couples may also go to a restaurant for a very nice dinner or plan something else romantic.

    In the United States, Valentine's Day is not just for lovers. Children make special Valentine's cards for their classmates. Families and friends may give candy or other small gifts to each other. It can be a fun day.
