Four years ago when I was a boy of 11，I got into the biggest trouble as a kid．It was a Saturday morning．Both my parents were out，leaving me and my 10—month—old sister alone．Anyway，my sister was still asleep in her room．In fact I had the house to myself．I decided to do some drawing．Soon I gave up．Nothing was on TV，so I felt bored and touched the candles on the shelf．I had an idea! What would happen if I set fire to some kitchen paper? Well，of course it went on fire，but it wasn't the tiny flame (火苗)．I'd expected，and I couldn't blow it out．I threw it on the floor, and then luckily got my dad's boots (靴子) and．Stamped it out ．

    I thought I was safe until there was a hole in my room．When my mum came home later, she smelt the smoke immediately．She dropped the shopping bag，luckily for me，over the hole．I thought this meant she would never see it．However，after running round the house checking for a fire，she of course picked up the bag and saw the hole．Next I was grounded (关禁闭) and in trouble for months．Even though，the hole was still there，reminding me of what I did．

    Something caught my eyes when I was walking down the street. Two silver coins were shining in a melting snow bank, so I dug through the snow looking for more. Of course, I just ended up with really cold hands. I slipped the two coins into my pocket and went home, colder but richer. I began to think about how to spend the money.

    Two days later, Mary and her little sister were searching the snow banks. "Finders are keepers" was my first thought. I didn't want to hand them out even though Susy was already crying." I dropped them right here," she said between tears. Her hands were cold and red for digging in the snow. "Maybe they slid down the street with the melting snow. Let's dig over here. "Mary's voice sounded confident.

    "They'll never know" was my second thought, and I walked past them. "Phil, have you seen two silver coins?" asked Mary. Susy looked up from digging. Her eyes were hopeful.

    "Tell a lie" was my third thought. As a matter of fact, I hesitated," I dug two coins out of that snow bank just a few days ago. I wondered who might have lost them." Susy hugged me with a big smile, "Oh, thank you, thank you."

    On a Friday night, a poor young violinist was playing his violin at the entrance(入口) of the subway station. He played such great music that people slowed down to listen and put some money into his hat.

    The next day, the violinist came to the entrance again. He put down his hat as usual. Beside the hat was a piece of paper with some words on it. It said, "A George Black has put an important thing into my hat by mistake. Welcome to claim(认领）it." Soon the people were all interested in the words and wondered what it could be. After a while, a man rushed into the crowd, took the violinist's shoulders and said, "I knew you would certainly come." The violinist asked, "Did you lose anything?" "Lottery(彩票)." The violinist took out a lottery ticket with Black's name on it.

    Black took it and danced happily.

    Black was an office worker. He bought the lottery and won a prize of $500000.But when he gave $50 to the violinist for his wonderful music, the lottery ticket was thrown in, too. The violinist was a college student.  That morning he was going to fly to Vienna for high education. However, when he found the ticket, he put off the flight and went back to the entrance.

    Later someone asked the violinist why he didn't take the lottery ticket to pay for his high education. He said, "Although I don't have much money, I live a happy life. If I lose honesty, I won't be happy forever."

    I am Turere. I come from Kitengela, a farming community on the edge(边缘) of Nairobi National Park of Kenya(肯尼亚). Since the age of nine. I have helped to look after my family's cows. As a child, in my free time. I enjoyed playing with electronics. I made my own inventions, such as electronic toys from car parts and other things. I also built other electronic devices(仪器) for my neighbors.

    At the age of 13, I invented something that changed my life. It also changed the lives of many people in my community. One night, a lion from the park came into my family's farm and killed one of our cows. I was angry. However, killing the lion, I thought, was not the best way to solve the problem. Instead, I decided to invent a solution

    The first idea I got was to use fire, because I thought lions were scared of fire. But I came to realize that didn't really help, because it was even helping the lions to see through the cowshed (牛棚). So I didn't give up. I continued.

    And a second idea I got was to use a scarecrow(稻草人). I was trying to trick the lions into thinking) that I was standing near the cowshed. But lions are very clever. They will come the first day and they see the scarecrow, and they go back. But the second day, they'll come and they say, this thing is not moving here, it is always here! So he jumps in and kills the animals.

    So one night, I was walking around the cowshed with a torch(手电筒), and that day the lions didn't come. And I discovered that lions were afraid of a moving light. So I had an idea.

    Megan and Mia are sisters. They are the same age, have the same last name, and live in the same house. You might think the sisters are twins, but they aren't. They started their lives in very different places.

    Before Mia was born, her parents decided to adopt(收获)a little girl from China. Their plan was to adopt a girl: she would be an age in between their son, Michael, and the new baby. But that's not how it worked out. Mia was born, and soon. Their parents learned they could go to China to adopt Megan She was three months younger than baby Mia.

    The girls are in the same grade, but not in the same class. They don't share clothes or toys or even hobbies. But they share some of the same friends. And when the sisters fight, it's usually about friends. "Sometimes one of us thinks that the other is stealing(偷)friends, so we fight," Megan says.

    The girls have their own rooms. "If I have a bad dream or see a scary（恐怖的）movie, Mia will let me sleep in her room, "Megan says. "We can give each other help and advice," Mia says." And we keep each other's secrets."

    Megan says she is so thankful for her family, but sometimes she feels sad. "I feel sad when people say, "You don't look like them!" she says. "Maybe you can't see it right away, but it's so clear that Mia and I are sisters. We'll always be there for each other."
