Three small fish lived in the sea. When they were very young, their parents died. They had to look after each other day after day. Finally, they grew up and could swim in deep water.

    One morning, a big wave(浪) pushed the three fish to a shallow water. It also pushed a small boat there. It was hard for them to go back to the sea because the boat was right in front of them. The largest fish realized(意识到) that they were in danger, and said they had to find a way to leave there as fast as possible. The second largest fish agreed with his elder brother, but the youngest one did not. He said that there was much time for their activities, so he would not worry at all and still swam happily.

    At last, the largest fish returned to the sea by jumping over the lowest part of the boat. The second largest fish were also successful in joining his elder brother in the other side of water. But the youngest one still swam there happily.

    Two hours later, when the sun came up, the water in the small shallow part dried up(干). The youngest fish died finally.

    Yang Jiang，the famous woman writer and translator is well-known to us all．

    She was born in Beijing in 1911．originally named Yang Jikang．As a baby she liked laughing．Her parents let every daughter develop their character freely．which is rare at that time and even at present．Jikang，therefore，had a happy childhood in the 1920s．

    She graduated from university and went to Tsinghua University as a postgraduate(研究生)in the 1930s．There she met Qian Zhongshu：they fell in love and married．

    In the l940s，she started to use the name Yang Jiang as her pen name．Since then she was commonly known as Madam Yang Jiang．

    In the l950s，she worked for Peking University，and started to learn Spanish．She was the first to translate Don Quixote《堂吉诃德》)into Chinese．

    She began to write short novels in the 1980s．The novel The Old Wang(《老王》)written in 1984 was selected as the passage in our middle school text book．

    Besides，her famous works After Baptism(《洗澡之后》)and We Three(《我们仨》)also became a household name in China．

    Sorry to hear that Madam Yang died at Peking Union Medical College Hospital in Beijing，on May25，2016．

    Do you know Chinese movie legend Chow Yun-fat? Chow Yun-fat is a Chinese film and television actor, and is named "The Asia's greatest actor". Also, he is a photographer. Everyone likes him very much.

    Chow Yun-fat was born in Lamma Island, Hong Kong, on May 18, 1955. After his father died, his family became very poor. In his childhood, he helped his mother farm and raise chickens on the island. He was only at school for three years, and then left school to work as a porter, messenger, and salesman. In 1973, he was chosen to study in the third artist training class of the wireless TV station. He became a basic actor one year later.     Chow Yun-fat spends only $800 HKD ($102 USD) every month. He keeps frugal by taking a bus or train as often as possible and doing charity work instead of spending it on himself. He had a Nokia phone for 17 years. A few days ago, he had to use a smart phone, because his Nokia one stopped working. He always shops at discount clothing stores, because, he said: "I don't wear clothes for other people. As long as I think it's comfortable, then it's good enough for me."

    My friend John has got a restaurant in a big city. It is near a supermarket. He gets ten robots for the restaurant. Each robot costs (价钱为) 20, 000 yuan. The restaurant is not big, but very popular. Now more and more people come here for dinner.

    The robots have different jobs in the restaurant. Two robots cook different kinds of food; one washes the dishes; one cleans the floor and the others give food to the guests (客人).

    Although robots do most of the jobs in the restaurant, John is still very busy. He must do many things to keep the robots working well.     Any introduction to Peking Opera would not be complete without telling of Mei Lanfang. During his stage life, he combined(融合) the traditions of the past with his own creations, creating a style of his own and giving birth to "The Mei Lanfang School". He was also the first artist to introduce Peking Opera to foreigners, winning international fame（名声）in the globe. For half a century, Mei Lanfang was a household name in China.

    Mei Lanfang began his stage life at the age of 8. His teacher said he showed little hope because of his boring eyes. To improve this, he exercised them day after day. He would fly kites and look at them moving slowly in a blue sky. He also kept pigeons in order to look at them flying higher and higher until they disappeared into the clouds. Thanks to his efforts, he managed to change his dull eyes into a pair of bright and expressive eyes and win national fame before the age of 20.

    In over 50 years on the stage, Mei Lanfang played no less than 100 different characters in the traditional Peking Opera performance（表演）. He completely changed both stage make-up and costumes, and made characters' performance. He also wrote many new plays, designing the dances himself. They are part of the great legacy(遗赠) that he left to Peking Opera.

    In 1930, Mei Lanfang started on a successful US tour. There his great performances fascinated the audience, making them realize that Peking Opera was a most valuable form of art.
