How time flies! I will be a senior high school student this term. I am very excited and nervous. I feel excited because I {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(learn) more knowledge from my new teachers.  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (especial), I can learn more about English, math, physics, chemistry and biology. I think they are {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(interest). I can meet many new {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(friend) in senior high school as well. I think they,{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (I) new friends, will be friendly and kind-hearted. I believe I will get along well {#blank#}6{#/blank#}all of my new classmates. As {#blank#}7{#/blank#}saying goes, “A friend is {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(easy) to be lost than found.” If you want to make friends with others, you should treat them true-heartedly. It is really hard,{#blank#}9{#/blank#} I will try.

I feel nervous because I heard that it is difficult{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(study) in senior high school. I think I will meet many problems. But it's nothing serious, because I know if I work hard, I will be successful at last.

    As they walk down the halls during their years together at Shady Side, our boys and girls —— so soon to become men and women —— are learning to think, to work, to question, to be {#blank#}1{#/blank#} and {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, to{#blank#}3{#/blank#}with others, to laugh at their mistakes and to act {#blank#}4{#/blank#} when {#blank#}5{#/blank#} comes their way.

    Sir William Osler, a famous Canadian doctor,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} the value of {#blank#}7{#/blank#} by saying, "No man is really happy {#blank#}8{#/blank#} a hobby, and it makes precious little {#blank#}9{#/blank#} what the outside {#blank#}10{#/blank#} may be."

    Lasa Bailey took her gloves off when {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(take)her dog for a long walk on a winter day and didn't notice anything until that evening. She was shocked when she realized her beautiful anniversary ring was missing. She {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(hurry)back to look for it but couldn't find anything. Her husband kept going on a website where people sell jewelry,{#blank#}3{#/blank#} never found it.

    All that changed, however, thanks to a recent Facebook post {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(write)on their local police department's page. A woman police officer posted, "If anybody knows of anybody losing a diamond ring, please contact us." One of her friends read it and wrote on it "Lisa Bailey".

    The police station happened to find some unidentified {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(jewel)in a local pawn shop (当铺) and took them away. When Bailey learned from her friend that her ring might {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(find), she couldn't believe it.

    The police called Bailey and asked her to describe it. She sent a picture of it to {#blank#}7{#/blank#} and then they asked if she could come to the police station. When the police officer in the station {#blank#}8{#/blank#} had written the Facebook post handed her the ring the next day  she was very thrilled and started to tear up. She could wear her anniversary ring home where it belongs {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (final) after three years' wait.

    Bailey's husband had offered to replace the ring after it went {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (miss), but she refused because she thought it wouldn't be the same.

    Before we left, Li Yanping explained to me that the force of gravity would change three times on our journey and{#blank#}1{#/blank#}the first change would be the most powerful. Then we were off. As the rocket rose into the air, we{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(pull) back into our seats because we were trying to escape the pull of the earth's gravity. It was so {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(strength) that we could not say anything to each other. Gradually the weight lessened and I was able to talk to{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(he). "Why is the spaceship not falling back to the earth? On the earth if I fall from{#blank#}5{#/blank#}tree I will fall to the ground." I asked. "We are too far {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the earth now to feel its pull," he{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(explain), "so we feel as if no gravity at all. When we get  {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (close) to the moon little by little, we shall feel its gravity pulling us, but it will not be as powerful a pull as the earth's." I cheered up immediately and floated{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(weightless) around in our spaceship cabin {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (watch) the earth become smaller and the moon larger.
