This story happened in a small mountain village. One day there was an earthquake. Nothing was destroyed and 1 was hurt. But a huge rock fell from a nearby mountain and stopped in the middle of the road.

　　When the earthquake2, many people came to the road and saw the huge rock. Some of the strongest men tried to lift the rock 3 the road. But they couldn't move it. They tried to push it but failed. They tried to 4 it with ropes but nothing worked.

　　"Well," they all agreed, "There's nothing we can do about it. We'll have to change the 5." At this time a boy of 12 years old said, "I think I can help you to move the rock."

　　"You?" they shouted, "What are you talking about?" The men all 6at the boy.

　　The next morning some people came into the street. One of them shouted, "The rock is7!" More people ran out to see. It was right. The rock wasn't in the road any more. It wasn't8 near the road.

　　"This is9," they said, "Where did it go?"

　　The boy stood in the street, 10 ， "I told you I could move it last night."

　　The boy walked over to where the11  had been and uncovered some earth. "I buried it," he said.

　　The people looked 12. "You see," he said, " I dug a deep hole next to the rock and I dug a small incline （斜坡）up to the rock and the rock 13 down into the hole by itself. I covered it with earth."

The crowds shouted, "What a 14 boy!" And some of them said, "Why haven't we thought of this good

    Yesterday I read a report on a charity show in a newspaper. The aim of the show was to  1money for the poor children. In the country areas, some children are out of school 2their parents can't pay for their education.

    To my surprise, many famous performers took part in the charity show, such as Andy Liu, Jay, Faye Wang, Kitty Chen and so on. The stars didn't ask for any pay. They did it for3  ! There were a lot of performances   4   singing and dancing. The audience were so excited that they 5 their hands from time to time. Of course, the show was a success.

    All the people followed the stars' example. A great number of people showed their generosity(慷慨) in    6   their money to the show. Both the ticket money and the donated money were soon sent to the poor areas and some of the poor children can get back to  7   now.

    Now many charity shows are held in our country, not only to8  education in poor areas but also to help people in trouble.     Many American people like to have their holidays in other countries. One day an American 1comes to China. This is her first time to China so she knows2. She wants to 3some friends there.     He was pleased to learn that Chibi knew all the places where the wild grapes and wild potatoes grew. He was amazed to 1 how much Chibi knew about all the flowers in our class garden. He liked Chibi's black and white drawings and put them up on the wall to be. 2 He like Chibi's own handwriting, which no one but Chibi could read, and he put that up on the wall.

    But, when Chibi appeared on the stage at the talent show of that year, no one could 3 his eyes. "Who is that?" "What can that stupid do up there?"

    Until Mr. Isobe announced that Chibi was going to imitate (模仿). the voices of crows. "Voices?" "Voices of crows?"

    4 he imitated the voices of newly hatched (孵化的) crows. And he made the mother crow's voice. Then he imitated the father crow's voice. He showed how crows cry early in the morning. He showed how crows cry when the village people have some unhappy accidents. He showed how crows 5when they are happy and cheerful. Everyone's mind was taken to the far mountainside from which Chibi probably came to school.

    Chibi made very special 6 deep down in his throat to imitate a crow in an old tree in the end. Now everybody could imagine 7 the far and lonely place where Chibi lived with his family. Then Mr. Isobe explained how Chibi had learned those calls- leaving his home for school at sunrise, and arriving home at sunset, every day for six long years.

    Every one of us cried, thinking how much we had been8 to Chibi all those long years.

    He was a boy beyond our usual imagination!
