In1997, Bobbi McCaughey gave birth to seven babies. They all survived(存活). This autumn, McCaughey's children are preparing to have {#blank#}1{#/blank#}18th birthday.

    Eighteen years ago, the birth of McCaughey's seven children was huge news across the world. Bill Clinton, American President at that time,{#blank#}2{#/blank#} the family and congratulated them. Doctors worried that they wouldn't survive their first few days, but they did. Many people helped them and they grew up{#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

Last year, I went England to study for three months. The first station was Cambridge — a city {#blank#}1{#/blank#} is a university and famous {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the university. I visited some places of {#blank#}3{#/blank#} in the morning and took English lessons in the afternoon. To me, the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} thing to do in Cambridge is boating along the River Cam. It is really beautiful. I stayed with an English family as a guest. After class, we could take part in their daily life or take trips by ourselves. My English was poor but the family kept communicating with me in English. With their help, My spoken English improved {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. Day by day, I was more{#blank#}6{#/blank#} with my conversation with them. Then I got to London, the capital city of England it is also the busiest city in England, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} a population of 7.5 million and a history of 2000 years. On the middle and {#blank#}8{#/blank#} area, there are plenty of farms. The weather is fine all the year round and I notice the countryside is green everywhere! Time {#blank#}9{#/blank#} while I was in England. Soon Christmas came, we decorated the Christmas tree, wore new clothes tasted delicious food and said “Merry Christmas” to friends or even strangers. It was really amazing! The next day, I {#blank#}10{#/blank#}to return home, however, there was only one thing I didn't do: it was a pity that I didn't take the London Eye to see the whole city on the clear days!

    In the past there lived a man in a small town called Zheng. One day he {#blank#}1{#/blank#}to buy himself a new pair of shoes. He measured (测量) his feet with a ruler first and wrote down his {#blank#}2{#/blank#} on a piece of paper. Then he went shoe shopping.

    When he arrived at the shoe shop, he reached into his pocket (口袋), but he {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the paper was not there. So he said to the salesman, "I have left the measurement at home and don't {#blank#}4{#/blank#}the size. I'll go back home to take it."{#blank#}5{#/blank#}these words, he ran out of the shop.

    He ran back home, found the paper and then ran to the shop {#blank#}6{#/blank#}. But it took him a few hours and the shop was closed (关闭). He{#blank#}7{#/blank#}the afternoon on the way and did not buy his shoes at last.

    Someone asked {#blank#}8{#/blank#} "Did you want to buy the shoes for yourself?"

    "Of course," he answered.

    "Then {#blank#}9{#/blank#} don't you try the shoes on by yourself?"

    "I trust (相信) the ruler {#blank#}10{#/blank#} than my feet," he said.

    He began to cry and said, "My brother {#blank#}1{#/blank#}out of his wheelchair and was almost under it. He is hurt and too {#blank#}2{#/blank#} for me. Could you give me a {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to get him back into his wheelchair?"

    After hearing this, Jack was moved and hurried to help him. He lifted the child's brother gently back into his wheelchair. He looked over the boy {#blank#}4{#/blank#} to make sure that he was OK. Then he watched the child {#blank#}5{#/blank#} his brother towards their home. Suddenly the child turned around and bowed（鞠躬）to him.
