Once there was a rabbit (兔子)called Bonnie．When she was young，her mother told her that all the carnivorous(食、肉的)animals are dangerous，{#blank#}1{#/blank#}they had no teeth．But Bonnie was never afraid of anything．One day, she played{#blank#}2{#/blank#}happily{#blank#}3{#/blank#}.she got lost．Then she noticed a little fox (狐狸)hiding behind a tree．{#blank#}4{#/blank#} .the fox saw Bonnie，he ran away quickly．Bonnie felt strange，so she ran after the fox，but the fox ran{#blank#}5{#/blank#}fast{#blank#}6{#/blank#}Bonnie couldn't catch him up．Bonnie shouted．“Who are you? Why are you running so fast? Can you show me the way to my home?”The fox answered．“I will help you{#blank#}7{#/blank#}you promise that you won't bite(咬)me．My mother told me that animals with long teeth are dangerous．”

    Mr. Smith {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in a police station for 42 years and he will retire this autumn. He tried to work hard in his life but he wasn't lucky enough {#blank#}2{#/blank#}even a thief.

    Last weekend, Mr. Smith {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to buy some sugar in a shop. When he got into the shop, he suddenly saw a young man get some money from a woman's bag and walk away. He ran to the thief and at the end of a blind alley(死胡同), the young thief {#blank#}4{#/blank#}by Mr. Smith.

    “Please give me a chance, sir,” said the thief. “I'll never do that again!”

    “But who can give me a chance?” said Mr. Smith. “I{#blank#}5{#/blank#} next month and this is the first time I've caught a thief!”

    The most difficult thing for university student Shaun Rogers is opening the classroom door by {#blank#}1{#/blank#} . Shaun can't do this without help because he is only six years old. He's the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}person ever to study at Rochester University in New York. Shaun began {#blank#}3{#/blank#} at two and by the age of five he had read many books and was able to finish writing his first book. "I love learning", says Shaun."     Shaun's mother first recognize that her son was different when he kept crying at playschool because he was bored with the {#blank#}5{#/blank#} games. She started teaching him at home after finding that local schools {#blank#}6{#/blank#} not prepared for children who learned at Shaun's speed. Now Shaun is studying geography at the university and using the Internet to finish his high school studies. However, some scientists {#blank#}7{#/blank#} that too much study can stop a child from developing {#blank#}8{#/blank#} . "I don't care how clever the kid is. A six-year-old boy has to play with their friends," says Dr. Brain Wood. Mrs. Rogers disagreed that all her son's time was {#blank#}9{#/blank#} up by schoolwork. "He loves playing the violin and has many{#blank#}10{#/blank#} such as camping, fishing and swimming, just like other boys of his age."

    An interesting new sport in the United States is sky diving(高空跳伞) . Some people like this {#blank#}1{#/blank#} very much. They often form(成立) a club. The members of the club get into airplanes and fly high above the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. When it is time, each person jumps from the airplane and {#blank#}3{#/blank#} toward the earth at a very high speed. All of the members have parachutes(降落伞) but they do not open the parachutes {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a long time.

    From the ground they look like big birds. The sky divers(高空跳伞运动员) say that they {#blank#}5{#/blank#} also feel like(感到好似) birds. Some people like to swim in the ocean or to play in the snow, but the favorite place for sky divers is the sky.

Back home, Qian at once {#blank#}1{#/blank#} helping China develop a space program. He started the Institute of Mechanics in Beijing, where he trained young scientists. He worked on many important space {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. In 1960, China's first rocket and first missile were launched(发射) {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. In 1970, China launched its first satellite. It is largely because of Qian's {#blank#}4{#/blank#} that China so quickly developed a space program, and became only the third country to send a manned rocket into space in

2003. 

Qian watched this rocket launch on television. He was by he will always be {#blank#}5{#/blank#} for his great contributions(贡献). He working so hard for his country, even through difficult times, helping develop the space program that pushed China into the future.
