My father died when I was {#blank#}1{#/blank#} little kid. We were too poor {#blank#}2{#/blank#} buy food. My mother got two part-time jobs to pay for {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (I) education. She did everything to make me live {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (happy). 

At {#blank#}5{#/blank#} age of twenty-two, I found a good job. However, a few {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (month) later, the doctor told me I had a stomach cancer. It's difficult for me to {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (accept) the fact. My mother {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (cook) simple but delicious food for me.

      After another CT, the doctor told me my tumor (肿瘤) got much {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (small) than before, and I was away from the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (dangerous) of the cancer.

    Everything about me elephant is big, from its size to how long it takes for a baby elephant to be born. Of all land animals, the elephants have the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (large) brain and can talk to each other using their own language. They also have {#blank#}2{#/blank#} very good memory. They can remember lots of other elephants that they have known and have friends and family the same way humans do. They will get very sad {#blank#}3{#/blank#} one dies and they help family members when they are sick or hurt.

    In India and Africa they {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (use) for transportation and to carry tourists around animal parks. Elephants are different {#blank#}5{#/blank#} many other animals because they are very kind and care about humans. They are gentle and kind and don't hurt anyone. They will only fight to protect {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (they). There is a story of an {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (India) king who died and for over 30 years his favourite elephant was very sad and would not do anything.

    And how do we humans treat elephants? For {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (thousand) of years elephants have been treated very {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (bad) and killed by humans. Although there is an international agreement to stop the ivory (象牙) from being sold, people still shoot and kill elephants to get their tusks. In fact, in 20 years there might not be any elephant left on Earth. So it is important for us {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (save) the elephants before it's too late.

    Plenty of people dream of going to Mars(火星).{#blank#}1{#/blank#}different from those people, 13-year-old Alyssa Carson has been working{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(happy)for that dream since the age of 4, according to a new report which{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(make)by the BBC not long ago.

    Alyssa tells the BBC, "I hope{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(go)to Mars because it is a place that no one has been to before. I want to take that first step." According to the BBC, she{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(attend) the USA's three world space camps so far.

    Her father, Bert Carson, tells the BBC that Alyssa plans to be on the first long journey to Mars, which is expected to take place in{#blank#}6{#/blank#}year of 2033."We are proud{#blank#}7{#/blank#} her, "he says." We have the next eighteen{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(year) planned out." One of those plans is Alyssa attending the International Space University.

    Of course, Alyssa's dream could come with{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(big)sacrifices(牺牲)than others. If Alyssa goes to Mars, maybe{#blank#}10{#/blank#}is very difficult for her to return to the Earth. Still, her father says, "If that's the only choice she has, she still wants to go." Alyssa agrees.
