My favorite animals are monkeys (猴子). I like them{#blank#}1{#/blank#} they are smart. Here are some new {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (photo) of monkeys in my phone. They make me happy when I see them. 

There is a monkey festival in my hometown. "Where are you {#blank#}3{#/blank#}?" you may ask. I'm from Lopburi. The festival is important to {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (we). It is usually on {#blank#}5{#/blank#} last Sunday of November. You can see all {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (kind) of foods on the big tables. The food tastes {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (good). It's all for monkeys. The monkeys sometimes fight for food. That {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(sound) funny, right? The monkey festival attracts (吸引) many people every year. People can watch some {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(interest)shows, too. The performers (表演者) wear beautiful clothes. I always have much {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (fun) at the festival. 

There was once a lazy crow (乌鸦). He thought it was too difficult {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (get) food. "Caw! Caw!" he said. "If someone brought me my food every day, I'd be very happy!"

One day, he saw a fat pigeon (鸽子) flying by. "{#blank#}2{#/blank#} happy it looks!" the crow said to himself. So the crow followed the pigeon until they came to a park. There were some other pigeons there too.

Before long, two {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (man) came along and brought the pigeons a large bag of food. When they had gone, the crow flew over to the pigeons. "Caw! Caw!" said he. "Can I help you?"

"No, you can't!" shouted the pigeons angrily. "We don't know you."

"The crow went home feeling sad. But he suddenly came up {#blank#}4{#/blank#} an idea. "I'll paint my feathers gray," he said, "and then the pigeons will think I am one of {#blank#}5{#/blank#}." After he did it, he flew off to {#blank#}6{#/blank#} park and was welcomed by the pigeons. The crow was so hungry {#blank#}7{#/blank#} he got very excited at the food. "Caw! Caw! Give lots to me!" he said loudly. Suddenly, the pigeons {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (find) he was a crow. They flew after him and made him away.

{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (sad), the crow flew to his own forest. But when his old friends saw him, they asked him to go away. They did not know him because of his gray-painted feathers. So the crow felt {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(bad) than before.

"What looks easier isn't always so," the crow said to himself. "I wish I had never painted my feathers gray!"

Zhi Nong was born in a small town in Yunnan Province. When he was young, he moved to Kunming with his mother. Feeling like a caged (笼中的) bird in a big city, he was bored with the busy and noisy city life and looked forward to nature. 

His chance soon came. In 1983, he helped shoot (拍摄) a documentary about birds. That experience led him to learn photography and take photos of flying birds. 

In the 1980s, the Internet was not that popular in China and cameras were expensive. He managed to borrow a camera and threw himself into studying how to use it. During that time, the library became his favorite place where he first read some magazines about nature. It opened a door for him to connect with nature. 

In 1992, a research program was set up to protect a type of unusual monkeys which only live in China. Usually, the home of these monkeys has half-a-year-long winters. It created great challenges for Zhi Nong's work, but he never drew back. "I didn't see the monkeys in the wild until I went into the mountains the third time," said Zhi Nong. He went into the snow mountains six times just to get valuable photographs of monkeys. 

Three years later, his works won international prizes. People around the world began to pay attention to the protection of wild animals in China. And he is the first Chinese winner of the world Wildlife Photographer of the Year. 

In order to call up tons of people to protect wildlife with cameras, he started "China Wildlife Photography Training. Camp". He hopes that more young people will join in for the nature protection. 

Once upon a time, there were two high mountains, Taihang Mountain and Wangwu Mountain.Because the two mountains blocked (阻碍) the way, the villagers had to walk a long way around the mountain s whenever they had something to do on the other s{#blank#}1{#/blank#} of the mountains.

Just to the n{#blank#}2{#/blank#} part of the mountains lived an old man called Yu Gong. He has lived theres{#blank#}3{#/blank#} he was a little child. One day, he called all his family together and said:"The two mountains are too much in the way. Let's move them away."Everyone agreed to have a try, e{#blank#}4{#/blank#} his wife. She said:"Are you crazy? An old man like you cannot even move a small hill, not to mention the two high mountains. You should give up."

However, Yu Gong wouldn't accept his wife's a{#blank#}5{#/blank#} and started to lead his children to dig the mountains. A man named Zhi Sou laughed at them and said:"You are so silly!You're so old and weak. How can you move the high mountains?"

"How do you know it is i{#blank#}6{#/blank#}?"Yu Gong said."My sons can c{#blank#}7{#/blank#}my work after my death. When my sons die, my grandchildren will keep doing it. So generations after generations, there's no end. But the mountains can't grow higher. Do you still think I am u{#blank#}8{#/blank#} to move them away?"

Several days later, the Heaven God h{#blank#}9{#/blank#} of Yu Gong's story. It greatly t{#blank#}10{#/blank#} the Heaven God, so he asked another god to take the two high mountains away.

The story tells us that as long as one is determined (有决心的) and sticks (坚持) to it long enough, anything can be done, no matter how difficult it is.

①Every Saturday night Mama would sit down by the kitchen table and count out the money Papa had brought home.

②"For the rent（房租）." Mama would count out the big silver pieces.

③"For the groceries." Another group of coins.

④"I'll need a notebook." That would be my brother Nels or me.

⑤Mama would put one or two coins to the side. We would watch with great interest. At last, Papa would ask, "Is that all?" And when Mama nodded, we could relax a little, Mama would look up and smile, "Good, we do not have to go to the Bank." We were so proud of Mama's Bank Account（银行账户）. It gave us such a warm, safe feeling.

⑥When Nels graduated from grammar school, he wanted to go on to high school. "It will cost a little money," he said.

⑦We all gathered around the table. I took down a box and laid it in front of Mama. This was the "Little Bank", which was used for sudden emergencies（紧急事件）. Mama counted out the money in the Little Bank. There was not enough. "We do not want to go to the Bank, right?"  she said. We all shook our heads.

⑧"I will work in Dillon's grocery after school," Nels answered.

⑨"I will give up smoking," Dad added.

⑩ "I will look after the children every Friday night," I said.

⑪Mama gave us a bright smile and wrote down a number. "That's quite enough." We all felt good because we didn't have to go down town and draw money out of Mama's Bank Account.

⑫That was twenty years ago.

⑬Last year I sold my first story, I hurried to give the check to Mama. "For you," I said, "to put in your Bank Account."

⑭Mama looked at me, surprisingly. "There is no account," she said. "in all my life, I've never been inside a bank."

⑮And when I didn't- couldn't- answer, Mama said seriously, "It is not good for little ones to be afraid- to not feel safe."
