A meteorite（陨石）almost{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(hit) an 80-year-old man named Arthur Pettifer in the UK while he{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(work) on the farm. The meteorite was{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(big) in the past 26 years in the UK. It weighed（重）one kilo, and might be over 4,000,000,000years old.

    "I heard the big noise in the air. I looked up and saw something falling from the sky to the ground（地面）{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (heavy)," he said, "I had a bad{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(feel) about it at that time.{#blank#}6{#/blank#} first I thought it was a plane."

    Meteorites are small things from the space.{#blank#}7{#/blank#} about 3,500 meteorites may fall on the earth every year, only very few of these{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(fall) rocks are found. Mr. Pettifer's meteorite is the fifth to fall in the UK{#blank#}9{#/blank#}the year of 1939.

    Mr. Pettifer is glad. "When you think about it coming from so far away.{#blank#}10{#/blank#} really is something strange."
