Bob is eleven years old. One day, his friend Jenny said to him, “I'm going to have a birthday party on Saturday. Bob, can you come?”

      Bob asked his mother, and his mother said, “Yes, you can go.” On Saturday afternoon, his mother said to him again, “Now, Bob, when you go to the party, you must be polite(礼貌的), and don't ask for food until someone gives it to you. ”

     “All right, Mom.” Bob said, and he went to Jenny's house by bike.

      There were many children at the party. They played games for about an hour, and then Jenny's mother gave them some food, but she forgot Bob and didn't give him any. After a long time, he took up his plate（盘子）and said loudly, “Does anyone want a nice clean plate?”

    As a kid， I read a story of a bird. It described a male bird which takes a lot of pain to build a house and the female bird takes care of the baby in it. When the baby bird learns to fly， the whole family flies off to a different place leaving behind the beautiful nest for other birds to grow their family in it. It made me confused(困惑的)： How could they so easily give up their house built with so much effort?

    One night， I got this dream. I was walking on the endless road with beautiful trees on the either side. Attracted by the greenery， I went on， then I saw a wonderful house. I explored the house. There was a sloping(斜的) roof which matched with the greenery around； the large central open yard reminded me of the activities that might have taken place there which felt lively even now. The small water body that kept the house cool added to the beauty of the house — of course， it was all dried up now. Such liveliness turns the house into a home. People say “THE HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS”， and now I felt it and was attracted deeply.

    When I woke up from the dream， I was clear about everything. I realized what message my dream wanted to convey(传递) me. And years later， when I chose my career， I thought of the story of the bird and my dream， then I was sure what to do. I decided to choose architecture as my career. I wanted to do the same thing that the male bird in the story did， to take pain in building a beautiful house and let others stay in it. My dream comes true and the happiness that I gain now from this career is great.

    Two hunters rented(租用) a small plane to fly them to a forest. They told the pilot to come back and pick them up in about two weeks. By the end of the two weeks， they had hunted a lot of animals and they wanted to put all of them onto the plane.

    But the pilot said， “This plane can only take one lamb. You'll have to leave the others behind.”

    Then one hunter said， “But last year， another pilot with the same plane let us take two lambs and some other animals onto the plane.”

    So the new pilot thought about it. Finally he said， “OK， since you did it last year， I think this year we can do it again.” Then they put all the animals they had hunted onto the plane， and the plane took off. Five minutes later， it crashed.

    The three men looked around， and one hunter asked the other one， “Where do you think we are now?”

     The other hunter looked around and said， “I think we're about one mile away from the place where the plane crashed last year.”

    Dear Andrew, I write this letter to tell you something exciting. We had a sports meeting in our school last Friday!

    At about 8: 00 am, all the students arrived at the playground. I took part in the first event-the 100-metre race. Steve got first place. My classmate David took part in the long jump and Lisa took part in the high jump.

    The tug-of-war(拔河) between Class Three and Class One was the most interesting event in the morning. It was at 11: 00 am. And Class Three won it. The events in the afternoon were the 400-metre race, bicycle race, basketball game and tennis game. My classmate Maria took part in the 400-metre race. But she fell down and could not move. Frank is the best basketball player in our school. He helped his team win the basketball game.

    The sports meeting ended at 5: 00 pa/8All of the students were excited. We looked forward to the next sports meeting in our school.
