牛津深圳版九年级下册Module 1 Explorations and exchanges Unit 2 Culture shock同步练习

根据短文理解,选择正确答案。

It is 40 meters long and 6 meters wide. This must be the biggest bus you have ever seen. It can carry 1,200 to 1,400 people.

It is China's new Super Bus. It is going for a test run in Beijing at the end of this year. Some other cities are also interested in running the Super Bus. They hope it can solve traffic problems.

The Super Bus runs along fixed tracks (固定轨道). The bus sits on top of two 2.2-meter-tall legs. The legs have wheels at one end. Small cars can drive under the bus, so the Super Bus does not take up road space.

The bus runs on electricity and solar power. It can travel up to 60 km every hour. Its creator, Song Youzhou, says it can reduce a lot of traffic jams (堵塞).

The Super Bus can do the work of 40 buses. In that way, it can save 860 tons of fuel (燃料) every year, according to Song.

"To build a Super Bus and its track costs less than building subways. Subways are nearly ten times more expensive to build." Song said.

Some people worry that the Super Bus may not be safe. However, Song says there's no need for concern. The Super Bus has laser scanners (激光扫描仪) between its legs. The scanners make sure the cars keep a safe distance.

A、the bus doesn't take up road space B、the bus can do the work of 40 buses C、the bus is very easy to build and drive D、the bus can save a lot of energy every year
(3)、According to Song, it's safe for small cars to drive under the Super Bus because________.

A、the bus is tall enough B、the road is wide enough C、there are scanners between its legs D、the bus travels at 60 km per hour
(4)、We can guess that Song's purpose for building the bus was to________.

A、take the place of small cars B、solve traffic problems C、increase the speed D、reduce car accidents

 阅读理解阅读下列材料,从下面每题的A、B 、C、D四个选项中选出最佳答案。

So far, China has successfully sent a large number of satellites(卫星)and spaceships into space. Space scientists have been greatly inspired by the old stories and ancient famous people when giving them names.

Since thousands of years ago, Chinese people have dreamed of going to the moon. Chang'e Flies to the Moon is one of the most popular stories. As you can see, China's first man-made satellite to circle around the moon was named Chang'e I. More interestingly, the moon rover( 巡 视器)was named after the Jade Rabbit(玉兔), who is the partner of Chang'e in the story. These old stories carry people's best wishes and dreams. With the development of science and technology, our scientists have made them come true.

Kua Fu Runs After the Sun is another story to show how much ancient Chinese people

wanted to know about the unknown world. Now, Kua Fu is going with the scientists to"visit"the sun, because we have a space project called KuaFu Mission.

Besides the ancient stories, space scientists also get ideas from ancient famous people. For example, Mozi, an ancient scientist, discovered that light travels in a straight line over 2, 000 years ago. His discovery made space study take a big step at that time. So, China's first quantum(量子) science satellite was named Mozi, making China the first country in the world to achieve quantum communication between satellites and the ground.

From such simple things as giving names to the satellites, we can see how great our traditional culture is and what influence it has on our modern science and technology.

 阅读下列短文,从每题所给的 A 、B 、C 和 D 项中,选出最佳选项。

Do you know your mobile phone number well? You may sometimes find it hard to remember your number. That's because China has the longest mobile phone numbers in the world. Why is that?

The 11 digits (数字) include three parts. Each part has a different meaning. The first three numbers tell you the mobile phone service provider (服务提供商) you are using. For example, 135 is for the China Mobile Communication Corporation (中国移动) and 186 is for China Unicorn (中国联通). The fourth to the seventh digits tell you where the number is from. And the last four digits are random (随机的).

The main reason for using 11 digits is that we have the largest population (人口) in the world. We once had 10 numbers. But as our population grew, there were not enough numbers for us to use. So we began to use 11 digits from 1999.

11 digits can make tens of billions of mobile phone numbers. That's enough for each person to have seven or eight phone numbers to use in China. Also, we can reuse the mobile phone numbers. Usually, the service provider will use a canceled number again after three to six months. If you call a number that you haven't called for a long time, you may find its owner has changed.

Besides China, Britain and Japan also use 11-digit mobile phone numbers. But their numbers always start with 0. So they cannot make as many numbers as we can. Countries like the United States, Australia and India use phone numbers with 10 digits. Canada's mobile phone numbers are perhaps the world's shortest: they use seven digits.
