It was yearbook day and we were given an hour to sign each other's yearbooks in the cafeteria. I was president of the class and I played sports. When I sat down at a table, people started to come over to get their yearbooks signed and to sign 1.
Among them, a weak boy with ugly teeth and thick glasses kept shaking. I had seen him around, and I knew he was always laughed at. He seemed2 of himself, and was so pale that it 3us to look at him.
He came up and asked me nervously, “Can you sign this?” I took his yearbook but I didn't know 4 to write. I saw that there was the name “Ricky Sanders” written on the front of it. So I wrote:

I put down the yearbook and turned around to get some signatures from some of my friends when I 5 my yearbook was gone. I saw that Ricky had sat down with my yearbook. “What are you doing?” I asked him. He looked up calmly(平静地) and 6said “Sign!”
My friends broke into a loud laugh, and I saw that he was carefully frying to put a signature in my yearbook. He hadn't even finished the “R” yet. I thought for a while and 7 to let him sign.
It took him nearly five minutes to sign and when I got my yearbook back, there was a very shaky “RICKY”. He hugged(紧抱) his yearbook and8. I couldn't help but smile back at him.
In that moment, my 9 changed completely.
I gave him a high five and suddenly everyone at my table wanted his signature. He was asked politely to write in their yearbooks and the signature 10 of his yearbook were filled up. He was smiling so big that it lit up the whole room.
I changed school the next year, and I never saw Ricky again. However, I will never forget the day that he became the most 11guy in school. Whenever I'm 12, I still look back at that yearbook.

    It was a fine spring day for a walk down the street. A mother and her two little girls walked along the sidewalk, happily laughing.  1, a hundred small alien ships appeared on the horizon. They started  2 off some electric rays. People screamed. Children cried. There was  3 everywhere.

    There came the tingling sound of glasses breaking everywhere. People fled in every   4. The mother was jostled (推) and lost hold of her 5. She raced around shouting and crying for her kids. She thought they were lost to her forever.

    The sky cleared up. The aliens were 6. But there was no sight of the children. Heart-broken, the mother reached her house, crying her eyes out.

    She heard someone 7“Mamma”. Was it her kids? She frantically (慌忙地) 8 around. There they were! Hand in hand they came running towards her. She ran towards them, too. Her arms stretched out 9 to hug them. She opened her eyes. The pillow felt wet. It was a dream!

    She raced to the kids' bedroom. Her lovely girls were sleeping peacefully. She kissed both their foreheads and  10“love you”.

    Let me tell you something about my brother. He is a 1 fan(迷). He likes playing 2 kind of games. He likes basketball, football, tennis, badminton3 swimming. And he is 4 at football. Beckham(贝克汉姆) is his favourite5player. He is a 6 of the Football Club. When he goes shopping, he always 7 newspapers about sports and he 8 watches sports news. His school is very big and beautiful. There 9 a football field, a tennis court and a swimming pool in his school. He usually 10 football with his friends after school. He wants to be a football player when he grows up. He often goes to the stadium to watch the football matches at the weekend.

    One morning，Sue was riding her bike to school. She was late，so she decided to take a short cut（捷径）. But she made a mistake and1into a one-way street. The street was not very2. A car was coming from the other direction. The driver quickly drove to one side and drove into a shop window. The shop assistant was greatly3! There was4everywhere. Sue rode into the other side of the street and5a man, then an apple cart. The apple cart turned over and the apples went in all directions.

    A group of students were having6in a small restaurant. Quickly they ran7the street. With their help, all the apples were8and put back on the cart. Luckily,9Sue nor the driver of the cart was hurt. A policeman came by and saw what happened. He10Sue from riding to school and asked her some questions, so Sue was even later for school.

    Mark lived in a village far away. One day he became very ill and everyone thought he would1soon. They sent for a doctor. Two days2the doctor came and looked over the sick man. 3asked for a pen and a piece of paper to write down the name of the medicine. But there was no pen4paper in the village, because no one could write.

    The doctor5 up a piece of burnt wood from the fire and wrote the name of the medicine on the6 of the house. " Get this medicine for him, " he said, "and he will soon get 7. "Mark's family and friends did not know 8 to do. They could not read the strange words. Then a young man 9an idea. He took off the door of the house, put it on his carriage(马车) and drove to the nearest 10. He bought the medicine there, and Mark was soon well again.

    A farmer had a donkey. One day it fell into a deep dry well. The poor animal cried for hours. The farmer tried hard to pull it out but1. Finally, he decided the animal was too old, so it just wasn't worth it to try to 2it. So he invited his neighbors to help him bury (埋葬) the old donkey in the well so that it would make him end its pain.

    They each took a shovel (铲子) and began to cover the3with dirt. Realizing what was happening, the donkey felt upset and cried sadly and loudly. But as more dirt fell into the well, slowly it became 4. The farmer looked down into the well, and was 5 by what he saw. When the dirt hit its6, the donkey shook it off and took a step up on the new layer of dirt. As the farmer's neighbors continued to put dirt on top of the animal, it would shake it off and7a step up. Soon, the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and 8quickly. Everyone was amazed and shocked. It seemed that it would bury it at first, but it actually helped it9later.

    Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to get out of the well is to stop 10, and not to let the dirt cover you, but to shake it off and take a step up. Each one of our troubles in life is a stepping stone. We can deal with difficulties just by not stopping, never giving up!
