    I was feeling a little blue because my mother had lost her job.

Su Shi, also known as Su Dongpo, was an outstanding Chinese poet ( 政治家), who lived during the Song Dynasty from 1037 to 1101. 

Su Shi was born into a well﹣known family in Meishan, Sichuan province. His father and brother were both great poets. Su Shi showed great talent from a young age and was known for his skills in handwriting and painting. At the age of 20, Su Shi successfully passed the imperial ( 科 举 ), Su held a number of different government positions across China. However, his different opinions often got him into trouble because of disagreements at court, he was exiled (流放) three times. In 1079, Su Shi was even sent to prison. Although he got out of prison at last, Su Shi's literary(文学) talent continued to shine, and he produced a great number of' poetic works during his lifetime. In 1080, he found peace in nature and produced some of his best works. The famous poem, "Red Cliff", was one of them. Su Shi's talent was beyond poetry, as he was also a great prose writer. His article "On the Love of the Lotus" shows his love for the beauty of the flower. In addition, his collection of short stories shows his humour and wisdom. 

It was not only in the literary field that Su Shi was highly praised. As an official, he won the love and support of the people. During his services, he did a lot for the people. In 1077, he protected the city from a terrible flood. The people in Xuzhou were thankful to him and gave him some food as presents. 

Although Su Shi's life was filled with both achievements and troubles, he is remembered as one of the greatest people in Chinese history, and his creative talents and strong spirit continue to influence and guide people around China.

The saying that school years are golden years is true for me. I enjoyed them a lot. I shaped me as the person I am today. I owe my life's success to my school days. 

From the first day to the graduation day, my school days are still vivid(生动的) in my memory. Whenever a friend from school contacts me, I am taken back to those happy days of my life. 

My school days were a treasure box of valuable lessons and experiences. I made many good friends at my school. I experienced social skills first-hand. I was taught how to read, write and think critically(批判地). I learnt to play sports and exercise to keep healthy. 

My teachers and my classmates helped me. My teachers taught me much of what I know about life. They shared their experiences and guided me. They were my models of success which I was thirsty for. They helped me in discovering my life's path. They supported, and encouraged me a lot. My classmates were my true partners in all moments of life. They raised me up when I couldn't stand up; they cheered me up when I was down; and they helped me stay on track with class progress when I got sick. I could never have made it through my school days without our friendships. 

All these experiences made my school days golden in my life. I will never forget those happy days.
