It was a fine spring day for a walk down the street. A mother and her two little girls walked along the sidewalk, happily laughing.  1, a hundred small alien ships appeared on the horizon. They started  2 off some electric rays. People screamed. Children cried. There was  3 everywhere.

    There came the tingling sound of glasses breaking everywhere. People fled in every   4. The mother was jostled (推) and lost hold of her 5. She raced around shouting and crying for her kids. She thought they were lost to her forever.

    The sky cleared up. The aliens were 6. But there was no sight of the children. Heart-broken, the mother reached her house, crying her eyes out.

    She heard someone 7“Mamma”. Was it her kids? She frantically (慌忙地) 8 around. There they were! Hand in hand they came running towards her. She ran towards them, too. Her arms stretched out 9 to hug them. She opened her eyes. The pillow felt wet. It was a dream!

    She raced to the kids' bedroom. Her lovely girls were sleeping peacefully. She kissed both their foreheads and  10“love you”.

It's 7:00 a. m. on Friday in Beijing. Anna is having a video chat with her family in America. In the video, Anna's family are sitting around a big table. It's 6:00 p. m. in America and it's the night before Friday. Today is Thanksgiving Day in America. Anna's mother makes a lot of delicious food. Anna sees the turkey—the must-eat on Thanksgiving Day. Anna's brother Nick is talking with her.

"Hi, Anna,"Nick says."We are taking a trip tomorrow."

"Oh, really?I hope you'll have a good time."

"Would you like to know where we are going?"

"Mom loves Thailand. Are you going to Thailand?"

"No. We miss you and we are going to Beijing to see you!"

Anna sees her family's faces and cries. No one loves you like your family.

Willie and his little dog Bounce were best friends. Willie taught his dog many interesting tricks, and often said that Bounce could do almost anything in the world but talk.

One day, Willie walked with Bounce down to the river, which was very close to his father Mr. Brown's store.

Willie began to throw stones into the water and watch ripples (涟漪). Bounce lay on the grass, enjoying the warm sunshine.

There were some logs (原木) floating in the river near the bank. Willie jumped upon one of them to see if he could throw a stone across the river. Just as he was about to throw, the log turned and he fell into the water. He was so scared, for he did not know how to swim, and there was no one nearby.

Not being a big water dog, poor Bounce ran up and down the bank two or three times, barking (叫), looking first at Willie and then around. Then he ran to Mr. Brown's store as fast as he could.

When he got there, he caught hold of Mr. Brown's clothes, then ran to the door, then back again, catching at him, barking and jumping. Mr. Brown realized something was wrong. He went with the dog.

Soon the father came to the river, and saw Willie struggling (挣扎) in the water. Luckily, his father saved him. When he got over his fear, no one seemed to be more delighted than Bounce, his true friend.

I have a twin sister, Jenny. She has {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(长的) hair than me. Many people think {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(我们) must have a lot of things in {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(普通的, 常见的). That's not true. Jenny is creative. She won the best {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(奖) in the school talent show. She likes making friends, so she is more {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(外向的). But I like staying at home. And I watch TV {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(两次)a week because I have to go to school every day. I always get better {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(分数) but she is much less hard-working. So maybe I should help her. {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(然而), we also have some similarities(相似点). We {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(都) like sports and going shopping, so we can talk about and {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(分享) everything. I love my twin sister.
