A book review of the Adventures of Tom Sawyer

    The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a lively story full of fun.

    Tom, the hero of the book, lives with his aunt Polly. He is a lively and clever boy. He doesn't like people telling him {#blank#}1{#/blank#} to do, so he always gets into trouble. He and his best friend, Huck Finn, run away to an island in the middle of the Mississippi River. Tom has more {#blank#}2{#/blank#}        because a bad man named Injun Joe is looking for him. Later, Tom escapes ( 逃跑) from a cave with another friend, Becky. He also finds Injun Joe's treasure box and takes it {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

    My favourite part of the book is when Tom and Hunk start {#blank#}4{#/blank#}adventures on the island in the Mississippi River. At first, they are {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. But when they hear that everyone thinks they are dead, they feel very sorry, so they come back home. They hide and watch for a time when they see their family and neighbours {#blank#}6{#/blank#} to their funeral in the church. Then, Tom and Huck {#blank#}7{#/blank#} appear. Everyone is surprised to see them at first, but very pleased to find that they are alive.

    The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a great book. It is more than an adventure story. Mark Twain wrote it in 1876. It describes people's lives in the southern {#blank#}8{#/blank#}  of America at that time. It tells how young people grow, how people love each other and how bad people {#blank#}9{#/blank#} for their actions. It is written in everyday English and the dialogues sound especially real. Today, it is still read and loved {#blank#}10{#/blank#} people all over the world, and it is thought to be one of the greatest American stories.

    We always remind ourselves that life will be better after we graduate. Then, we are {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (worry) that we may not get a good job. After getting a job, we are wondering {#blank#}2{#/blank#} we can finish all the work well or not. We think we will certainly be happy when all the problems are dealt with.

    We always imagine living a perfect life after we get a nice car and are able to go on a vacation after we retire. But the {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (true) is that there is no better time than right now. Our life will always be {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (fill) with challenges. New problems will appear again after we solve the old {#blank#}5{#/blank#} . Never doubt {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (oneself) when problems come up and it's certain that you can finally manage to get over all the difficulties. It's necessary to realize this and try to be happy every day.

    One of my favorite quotes(引述) from Alfred Souza is that "For a long time it seemed to me that a new and happy life was about to begin. But there were always some difficulties and challenges along the way, something to be dealt with first, some unfinished work, a bill to be paid. Then life would begin. At last I came to understand that these difficulties are just my life."

    This view makes a great difference {#blank#}7{#/blank#} me. It gives me courage to face all the difficulties in an active way instead of {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (run) away from them. It also helps me know that there is no way to happiness. So value every moment that you have now.

    And always remember time waits for no one. You can never afford to waste your time waiting for a better life to come {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the present time is the best. So stop waiting {#blank#}10{#/blank#} you graduate, you get married, you have kids and you get a new car. Enjoy your life now!
