It is raining outside. A bus 1 at a small bus stop. A man 2 out of the window. He sees a woman. She is selling 3. The man wants 4 a cake. But he doesn't want to go out because it is raining. The man sees a boy. The boy is 5 the window. “Come here, boy, ” the man says, “Do you know 6 the cake is?” “Twenty fen. ” the boy says. The man 7 the boy forty fen and asks him to buy two cakes. “One is for you and 8 is for me, ” he says to the boy. After 9 minutes, the boy comes back. He 10 a cake. He gives the man twenty fen and says, “Sorry, there is  only one cake left. ”

    I went to Australia for summer holiday with my parents last year. I was so excited about the 1.

    We did many things there. The first day, we 2 Sydney. We had some 3food for lunch there. After lunch，we went to a big 4 . We saw tigers and koalas. The animals weren't 5 of people.

    6that, we had a walk and we 7 at a restaurant. We went back to the 8 to rest at 9: 00 in the evening. I was very 9. But I really 10 myself. I hope to go there again.

    Once there lived a poor family in our town. They were so poor that there was almost(几乎)1 in the house but a pot(罐) 2 a broken table. In it there was a little rice. They 3the rice from their neighbour for the coming New Year. On New Year's Eve(除夕夜), the wife already fell asleep, but the husband was 4 in bed, worrying about their life. Suddenly he heard someone breaking into the room.

    “It must be a thief(小偷),” he thought, “5 it doesn't matter. The thief can steal(偷) nothing.”He didn't shout or move. But he kept6over the thief.

    The thief came into the house and was only7 in the rice under the table.

    “But8can I take it away?” the thief thought hard. Then he had an idea. He9 his coat, put it on the ground between the bed and the table and turned around to take the 10 .

    Now the husband knew11the thief would do. He picked up the coat quickly and covered himself with it12the thief turned back.

    The thief took the pot, and poured(倒) the rice onto the coat. Then he began to feel it. But he was13 to find that his coat was gone.

    “Hey,” he shouted out. The14 woke up the wife. She asked her husband, “Did you hear any sound? Maybe there is a thief in the room.”

    “Shut up! (闭嘴)” replied her husband, “15 to sleep. There is no thief in the room.”

    “That's impossible,”the thief shouted loudly, “If there isn't a thief, then, where is my coat?”

The sun is shining and the birds are singing around. On such a 1 morning, a UFO lands in a forest. A boy called Bill is just watching it behind a tree. 

Suddenly, a tall alien* comes out of the UFO. He wears a silver suit and starts picking up 2 . One by one, he takes photos of them with a camera. When he finishes, he puts the flowers into a large box.

The alien thinks he sees something move and asks, "Is anybody there?" Bill doesn't answer. 

The alien 3 the looker and sees the boy behind the trees. "Oh, there is someone. Hello!" the alien says, "It's all right. You can come closer." 

"What are you doing?" Bill asks. 

"I'm 4 flowers," the alien says.

"Flowers? For what?" asks Bill.

"I'm going to take them back to my planet*," says the alien. 

"Aren't there any flowers on 5 ?" asks Bill.

"No, our planet doesn't have flowers for a long time." The alien says 6 , "We have too much litter, we cut down too many trees, 7 now it's like a desert*. There is almost no water any more. All of the flowers and trees that lived on our planet are gone." 

"That's terrible," says Jim "Is anyone doing 8 about it?" 

"Yes ... That's 9 I'm here and we want to find plants from other planets. We use them to learn about water. I believe someday water will come back to our planet." 

"Wow," Bill said. "What's the name of your planet?"

It's called Rozul," the alien says, "Long ago, it was very beautiful. If we work hard, someday Rozul will be 10 again." And then the alien goes back to the UFO. Bill says goodbye as the UFO slowly goes up into the air and flies away.

"Amma, your son has sent money to you," said the postman to the old lady. She was sitting outside her house. Seeing him, Amma's face lighted up. "Let me first talk to my son," she was looking at him with hopeful eyes. But the postman tried to avoid it, "Amma, I don't have so much time. Don't talk with your son every time."

The postman wanted to go but Amma stopped him. She said, "It will take just a while." Hearing this, the postman dialed (拨号) a number on his mobile phone.After talking to her son on the phone, Amma was happy.

Then, the postman handed eight 100-rupee (卢比，货币单位) notes to Amma. After counting the money, she took out one note and gave it to the postman.

"Why, Amma?" asked the postman. Amma smiled and said, "You bring me money and also let me talk to my son. It must cost money, right? So keep it." Amma went inside after giving him lots of blessings (祝福).

The postman left and met his friend Ramu. "Every month you give your own money to Amma. Not only that, you give me money to talk to her on the phone as her son! Why?" Ramu asked.

The postman said, "Her son worked in a foreign country and used to send money to his mother every month. But one day, her son was missing. Now, he's still out of touch. I don't want to tell this to Amma. So I send her some money and ask you to talk with her on the phone."

My good friend Mary is my cousin. She is three years{#blank#}1{#/blank#}than me.I am fourteen years old and she is eleven now. She is very friendly and{#blank#}2{#/blank#},so she has many friends.She is {#blank#}3{#/blank#}in music and    wants to be a singer when she grows up.

When she was six years old, she started to learn singing.She wants to be a great singer,{#blank#}4{#/blank#}she says it's difficult.She practices singing every day.She{#blank#}5{#/blank#}sings in shows and I love listening to her singing. We talk about everything together and we always{#blank#}6{#/blank#}some—thing interesting with each other. My favorite saying is "A true friend reaches for your hand and {#blank#}7{#/blank#}your heart."Mary is a friend like this.

Mary is very busy{#blank#}8{#/blank#}she also studies photography（摄影）in her free time．She takes lots of{#blank#}9{#/blank#}.They are all very wonderful. Last year, she{#blank#}10{#/blank#}the first prize in the photo competition.

I am lucky that I have so good a friend.
