Stephen Hawking，who was born in England in 1942， died at the age of 76. He was one of the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (great) scientists on space and time in the world. Hawking spent his whole life {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (study) how the universe started and how it ends.

    When he studied math and science at Oxford University, he got serious illness {#blank#}3{#/blank#} made him unable to speak or breathe. He also couldn't move or dress {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (he). However, he had {#blank#}5{#/blank#} wheelchair with a special computer. It helped him communicate with others.

    Though he was facing all these {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (difficulty), he refused to give up his hope of living. Because of his illness, it was difficult {#blank#}7{#/blank#} him to draw diagrams or to write. So he {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (begin) thinking in pictures. With this new way of thinking, he is respected by people in the world.

    Once he was invited to China to give lectures. We {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (move) by his self-confidence and humorous conversations deeply.

    He once said, "When something unfair happens, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} is nothing to worry about! You just have to do the best in your own situation."

She thought these ways would cheer the students {#blank#}7{#/blank#} hold their interest. She was right. It worked well! The class did much {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (well) than any of her other classes.

    Later, however, she found out the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (true), the number after each name did not mean the IQ, {#blank#}10{#/blank#}the number of his or her clothing box in the school.
