What will our world be like in 2020 We aren't quite sure, but it's interesting to make some predictions.

    Languages

    English should still be the most popular language, but Chinese should be the second. Now, many foreign people are studying Chinese as their second language.

    Water

    Water will become as expensive as oil because many rivers will disappear. We will have to save water and pay more for clean water.

     Education

     More students will study online. Students from all over the world may study together on the Internet.

    Lately, people have entered the forests where chimpanzees (黑猩猩) live. The chimpanzees have been getting sick because of people's diseases. In addition, people are hunting chimpanzees. Their number is becoming smaller and smaller.

Chimpanzees live in the plains and forests of Africa. They eat many kinds of food, from plant leaves and seeds to insects and even other small animals. Chimpanzees' favourite food is fruit.

    Chimpanzees are very clever and they can use tools well. They can catch bugs using sticks, and break nuts using rocks.

    The world's forests are much smaller than they were before. Roads were built in deep forests, so people start to enter forests where chimpanzees live. That may lead to many problems. One problem for chimpanzees is that they can easily catch people's diseases and die. Chimpanzees are much closer to people than monkeys.

As it's easier for people to enter forests, they hunt more often. Young chimpanzees are caught to be pets or for scientific researches. The young ones are taken away from the forests, and the adults are killed. Chimpanzees are likely to disappear in the future.

    As space science develops, man has learnt more and more about space. Space is not only amazing but also dangerous. While working in space, spacemen are facing danger as well as success.

    Scientists have found out that the radiation is the greatest danger to spacemen in space. When spacemen are working in space, they are in danger of the radiation from the Sun and other stars, which is bad for their health.

    Space rubbish is also a great danger to spacemen. It's reported that there were 9,000 man-made things flying in space. About 30% of these are satellites, 10% are spaceships, and the rest space rubbish. A small piece of these can knock a spaceship window and cause some damage.

    Scientists are watching and reporting any possible danger all the time. They are working to deal with space rubbish. Although space is really dangerous, it interests many people on Earth. In the near future, it may become possible for people to spend a few days in a space hotel. We may even choose to leave the Earth and live in space in a few years. So we should do something to help improve the space environment.

    Animals grow up（成长） in different ways. Some newborn（初生的） animals are helpless but their mothers protect them. A newborn kangaroo is very small. It is only a few centimeters（cm）long. It closes its eyes and doesn't have hair. It stays safe in its mother's pouch（育儿袋）for a long time.

    A newborn monkey can not walk. Its mother carries it everywhere.

    Other baby animals can walk soon after they're born. They learn to run with their mothers when danger is near. A baby zebra can run, an hour after it is born.

    Some baby animals are born in a place that is safe. Baby wolves are usually born in big holes with little light. Other baby animals are born in the open. A baby elephant is often born on open land.

    As space science develops, man has learned more and more about space. Space is not only amazing but also dangerous. While working in space, spacemen are facing danger.

About 30% of these are man-made satellites(卫星),10% are spaceships, and the rest are space junk. An explosion(爆炸) in 1996 made a cloud of 300,000 fragments(碎片), each at least 4 mm in size, and even a small piece of these knocked against a spaceship window and did some damage. Scientists are working on helpful ways to do with space junk.

    Although space is really dangerous, it interests everyone on the earth. In the near future, it may become usual for people to spend a few days in a space hotel. We may even choose to leave the earth and live in space for a few years. So we should care for space and do something to help improve the space environment.

    In most parts of the world, many students help their schools make less pollution. They join environment clubs. In an environment club, people work together to make our environment clean.

    Here are some things students often do.

    No-rubbish lunches. How many lunch bags do you throw away after lunch? Environment clubs ask students to bring their lunches in bags that can be used again. Every week they will choose which classes make the least rubbish and report them to the whole school.

    No-car day. On a no-car day, nobody comes to school in a car including the students and the teachers. Cars give pollution to us, so remember:

    Walk, jump, bike, or run!

    Use your legs! It's lots of fun!

    Turn off the water! Do you know that some toilets can waste twenty to forty cubic (立方) meters of water an hour? In a year, that would fill in a small river. In the environment clubs, students repair those broken toilets.
