Today is my birthday. I am a girl. My name is Han Mei. I'm nine years old. I have a birthday party. I have a birthday cake and many gifts. My father and my mother say“Happy birthday!”to me. I'm very happy.

    The marathon is the longest race at the Olympics．You have to be a very strong runner to win the marathon．The marathon is 42.195 km long．Why is it 42.195 km and not 43? The 1908 Olympics was in London．The King of England wanted his children to watch the marathon so the race started at the gate of his palace．From there to the finish line was 42.195 km．One of the best marathon runners was Abebe Bikila．He was from Ethiopia．He won the gold medal in the marathon at the 1960 0lympics．He rail the whole race without shoes on!

    Today is Monday. It's my birthday. I get up at 6:30. I put on my new yellow shirt and blue jeans. Then I wear my shoes. I eat some bread and drink some milk for my breakfast. At 7:25, I go to school. I study English at 11 o'clock. I have lunch at 12:15. At 7:10 in the evening, I will have a birthday party with my mum and dad. I'm very happy.

    Dave is a clerk of a company. He has trouble getting to sleep at night. He goes to see his doctor. And the doctor gives him some extra—strong sleeping pills (安眠药). On Tuesday night Dave takes the pills, sleeps well and awake before he hears the alarm clock. He gets to the office on time, walks in and says to his boss, "I'm OK. I have no trouble getting up this morning." "That's fine." the boss roars, "but where were you on Wednesday and Thursday?"

    The children are going camping tomorrow.  Now they are reading some camping tips.

Camping Tips

    Take a tent, food, water, a cooking pot, warm clothes, walking shoes and a towel(毛巾) with you. Choose flat(平坦的) ground for your tent.

    Don't choose a place near a river for your tent.

    Don't drink water from a river.

    Set up your tent before it gets dark.

    Gather firewood before dark and make a fire near your tent.

    Don't walk around without shoes.

    Close the door of your tent at night.

    Be careful!

    There may be snakes.

    Collect your litter(垃圾) and take it away with you.

    Hi, I'm Amy. I'm eleven years old. I can sing and dance. I can sing English songs, too. But I can't do any kung fu. Today is Monday. We'll have an English party next Monday. Now, I'm cleaning the classroom with my classmates.
