Mr. King goes to a dinner party. He is wearing old clothes. He comes into the room. But people in the room do not look at him. They don't ask him to sit at the table.

    Mr. King goes home and puts on his good clothes. He goes back to the party. Everyone in the room stands up and smiles at him. They give him the very good food to eat. Mr. King takes off his coat, and puts it in the food and says, "Eat, coat!"

    The other people ask, "What are you doing?" He answers, "I'm asking my coat to eat the food. I am wearing my old clothes. You do not look at me. You do not ask me to sit down. Now, I am in these clothes. And you give me very good food. Now I see, you give the food for my clothes not for me!"

    Tim, Bob and Frank lost their schoolbags. They are in the Lost and Found case. The schoolbags are the same, but the things in them are different. Can you help them find the right schoolbag?

Tim: I have a math book and a pencil box in my schoolbag. There are three pencils, a pen and an eraser in the pencil case.

Bob: I have a Chinese dictionary, a math book and two notebooks in my schoolbag.

Frank: There are two CDs and three picture books in my schoolbag. My English books are also in it.

    Mr. Smith lives in a village, but he works in a big city. He goes to work by train every morning and comes home in the same way.

    This morning, when he is reading his newspaper on the train, a man behind him says "hello" to him and begins to talk to him, "Your life is not interesting, is it? "You take the same  train  every  morning,  and  you  always  sit  in  the  same  seat  and  read  the  same newspaper." "How do you know all that about me?"Mr. Smith says angrily （生气地）.

    "Because I always sit in the same seat behind you." the man answers.

    I remember one day in primary school, there were five of us who wanted to sit together and only one four-seated table. I, sadly, was the last to get my lunch, so I had to eat my food all alone at a table. Watching them laugh and have a good time while I was sitting by myself, I cried hard. Now, I am quite sure I overreacted a little bit that day, but my tears (眼泪) just show what everyone feels when he or she is alone at lunch or even in life.

    I had another lonely lunch situation in high school. There was not enough room for me at my usual table, so I had to sit with another group of students I had never talked to in my life. Now, I am not saying I heard some wonderful ideas that day, but I did hear quite new ones on life. It was really one of my most interesting lunchtime experiences.

    The point is, at least I sat with someone that day. I did not have to suffer (忍受)through eating my cold turkey sandwich all alone. No one felt pity for me, and I was not shy about having no friends.

    This lunch table is the same as life. No one wants to go through life on his or her own whether it is at lunch, class, or work, we all want to be included. So the next time you see one quietly sitting alone, you can invite him to sit with you. You could hear some interesting stories, and you could even possibly find a new great friend.
