You may think there is nothing but sand in the desert of the world, but it is not true. In the desert we can{#blank#}1{#/blank#} stones. We can see hills, too. There is a little rain in the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  , but it is not{#blank#}3{#/blank#}  for most plants.
　　The animals are {#blank#}4{#/blank#} to the desert people in many ways. The desert people eat the meat and drink the milk of the animals. They use their skins to {#blank#}5{#/blank#} shoes, water bags and even tents(帐篷). They use the camels(骆驼) for{#blank#}6{#/blank#}  things.
The people of the desert have to keep {#blank#}7{#/blank#}  from places to place. They must always look for grass or desert plants for their animals. They usually live in the tents. When there is mo more food for their animals, they take down their tents, put them on the camels and move to {#blank#}8{#/blank#} place. The desert people are very{#blank#}9{#/blank#} . No man in the desert would ever refuse to help the people in {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  and give them food and water

    When it comes to the holiday, people start to think {#blank#}1{#/blank#} they could spend it. Most people are {#blank#}2{#/blank#} from work, so they want to have a good rest and they choose a beach to spend the holiday. This is a great way to relax. People can play beach volleyball, swim in the sea, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the sun or just play the guitar on the beach all day.

    But some people like camping (野营) very much. So they choose a camping holiday. They bring some food, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} and sleeping bags to a beautiful place. It {#blank#}5{#/blank#} be in the forest or near a river. People feel very happy.

    Many people choose different {#blank#}6{#/blank#} to spend their holidays now. This is a holiday {#blank#}7{#/blank#} their homes. They invite friends, sit down at the table outside and spend time {#blank#}8{#/blank#} fun. I think all of these ways of spending holidays are very fun.

    For most of us in China, we only have to turn on the tap to get clean water. We seldom think twice about where it comes from.

    Day after day, thousands of children in poor countries have to{#blank#}1{#/blank#}hours walking for miles to collect water. What's more, the water is dirty and can cause serious diseases, such as diarrhea(腹泻). It's hard to believe, but every 20 seconds a child dies as a result of a water-related disease.

    The international water-aid charity called Just a Drop{#blank#}2{#/blank#}clean water to some of the poorest areas in the world, by building wells, pipelines(永管)and toilets. The charity has helped about 1.5 million people {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

    Betty, from Uganda, is just one of the people who have been helped by Just al Drop. 11-yearold Betty had to walk two miles every day, carrying two heavy cans{#blank#}4{#/blank#}dirty pond water before Just a Drop placed a well in her village. "I used to get sick from the water. Now, I don't have to walk long distances and I feel much safer with this clean water."
