Many people like to keep pets. Dogs and cats are very  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}   pets. Some people, however, keep birds or goldfish. They need less space and are easier to look after.　　

 If you want to have a pet, you can buy one from a pet  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}    but you must be careful not to buy a sick animal. It is best if you know something about the pet you want. This helps you choose a healthy pet. However, if you do not have much money and know very {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  about animals, you can visit the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(皇家防止虐待动物协会).

 The first RSPCA was established in England in 1821. It was set up to make sure that all animals are {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  with kindness. The RSPCA in Hong Kong carries out this aim. The RSPCA officers collect animals which have no {#blank#}5{#/blank#}   and are left in the street. They look after them {#blank#}6{#/blank#}  they are healthy again. People visiting the RSPCA may choose their pets from these animals and you can be sure that you will get a  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}    pet. If later your pet becomes ill, you can  {#blank#}8{#/blank#}  it to the doctors at the RSPCA for treatment.

 When you have a pet, it is very {#blank#}9{#/blank#}   that you look after it properly. You must remember to feed it on time. You should also give it a {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  and comfortable place to rest. Your pet will be happy and healthy if you love it and care for it properly.

    Now I'm happy to tell you about my daily activities (日常活动). I like to get up early. I usually get up at {#blank#}1{#/blank#}to six in the morning. Then I get{#blank#}2{#/blank#}and do morning exercises. At seven thirty, I have breakfast and then I go to school. I {#blank#}3{#/blank#} my bike to school. The classes begin at 8:00, and{#blank#}4{#/blank#}at 5:00 p.m. I like Friday best,{#blank#}5{#/blank#} I have a P.E. class. My{#blank#}6{#/blank#}subject is P.E., and I am{#blank#}7{#/blank#}the sports club. I{#blank#}8{#/blank#} many friends there. I usually go home at half past six in the afternoon. I have dinner with my family. After dinner, I do my{#blank#}9{#/blank#}in my room. I go to bed at nine o'clock.  How about{#blank#}10{#/blank#}daily activities?

    In November 1979, pupils in England were able to watch a new TV program called Monkey.

    Most of them were hearing this story for the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}time. However, this story is not new to Chinese children. The Monkey King or Sun Wukong is the main character in the{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Chinese book Journey to the West.

    The Monkey King is not just any normal monkey. In fact, be sometimes does not{#blank#}3{#/blank#} look like a monkey! This is because he can make 72 changes to his shape and size, turning himself into different {#blank#}4{#/blank#}and objects. But {#blank#}5{#/blank#}he can hide his tail, he cannot turn himself into a man.

    To fight bad people, the Monkey King {#blank#}6{#/blank#}a magic stick. Sometimes he can make the stick so small that he can keep it in{#blank#}7{#/blank#} ear. At other times, he is able to make it big and long.

    The Monkey King has {#blank#}8{#/blank#}the children of China for many years. And as soon as the TV program {#blank#}9{#/blank#}out more than 30 years ago, Western children became interested in {#blank#}10{#/blank#} this story because the clever Monkey King keeps fighting to help the weak and never gives up.
