Anna is my best friend. She likes to read books and watch TV. Her brother Bart likes to play ping­pong and watch the animals. Her sister Anita likes to play ping­pong, too. And she likes to fly kites. Ben is my friend, too. He likes to play games on the computer, and he also likes to watch the animals in the zoo.

Sue: On foot.

    The Smiths are Americans. They are now in Beijing. This is their first visit to China. They are going to stay in China for two months. They want to visit some cities and villages. They hope to learn some Chinese, too.

    Mr. Smith is a doctor. He will visit a hospital in Shanghai. Mrs. Smith is a school teacher. She is going to visit some city schools and village schools. Their daughter is a middle school student. She wants to meet some children students.

    They are going to take a lot of pictures in China. When they are back in America, they will show the pictures to their American friends. They want the American people to know more about China.

    The rhinoceros, often known as the rhino, is one of the world's largest animals. It is also one of the endangered animals. For many years people have hunted them for their horns.

    Today only five species of rhinos survive: the Black, the White, the Indian, the Javan and the Sumatran. They are found mainly in Africa and Southern Asia.

    Rhinos are plant-eating mammals. They eat tree bark, vines and grass. Rhinos have good hearing but poor eyesight. They sleep most of the day.

    Rhinos do not like humans. A rhinoceros can live for up to 60 years or more.
