Michael Perham (born on 16^th March, 2000 in Hertfordshire, England) is a boy who, at the age of 17, became the youngest person to sail around the world in the 50 feet racing boat, completing his journey on 7^th August, 2017. He started the world trip on the 15^th of November 2016 from Portsmouth, England.

    Just six days after Michael Perham set sail from Portsmouth, he started having serious problems with the boat, which he was unable to fix himself on the sea. He had to stop in Portugal. Just one day later, he set sail once again, with the hope of breaking David Dick's world record for the youngest person to sail around the world.

    Michael met many challenges along the way, including rough seas and knock-downs in the Southern Ocean, terrible loneliness and fighting storms, but the largest difficulty Michael faced was the boat itself. It caused one problem after another. He celebrated his birthday in March last year among the dolphins in Indian Ocean.

    Michael Perham has entered the record books after becoming the youngest person to sail around the world. The teenager already holds the record for being the youngest people to sail across the Atlantic, aged just 14.

    Michael Perham plans to create the Sail Michael Fund to encourage young people to take to the water. He is also aiming to take part in the 2020 Olympics.

    It was Mother's Day, but the young mother was a little unhappy, because she was 800 miles away from her parents. In the morning she phoned her mother to wish her a happy Mother's Day, and her mother told her about the beautiful lilacs（丁香）in the garden.

    Later that day, when she told her husband about the lilacs, he said, "I know where we can find all that you want. Get the children and come on. "So they went, driving down the country roads.

    There on a small hill, they saw a lot of beautiful purple lilacs. The young woman ran quickly to enjoy the flowers. Carefully, she picked a few here and a few there. On their way home there was a smile on her face.

    When they were passing a nursing home（养老院）, the young woman saw an old granny sitting in a chair. She had no children with her. They stopped the car and the young woman walked to the old woman, put the flowers in her hands, and smiled at her. The old granny thanked her again and again. She smiled happily, too.

    When the young mother came back to her car, her children asked her, "Who is that old granny？Why did you give our flowers to her？"

    "I don't know her," their mother said. "But it's Mother's Day, and she has no children. I have all of you, and I still have my mother. Just think how much those flowers meant to her."

    A lamb (小羊)was on her way home Suddenly a wolf (狼)came up and stopped her. The lamb said, "I know you are going to eat me.  But before you eat me, I would like to hear you play the flute(笛子). You can play the flute better than anyone else, even the shepherd(牧羊人)himself. "

    The wolf was so happy. And he took out(拿出)his flute and began to play.

    The wolf finished one piece. Then the lamb said some good words and asked him to play another(另一个)piece again.

    The shepherd and the dogs heard the sound. Then they ran to the lamb and the wolf. They caught the wolf and saved the lamb.

    "I'm going to make a time capsule(胶囊)," Anna told her parents at the breakfast table.

    Dad looked up from his coffee cup and smiled. "Sounds interesting."

    "Dad, I'm building a time capsule – it's like a memory box. I watched my teacher dig one up from our school yard yesterday. Some students buried(埋) the capsule thirty years ago. It had a lot of old things in it, so we could see what life was like back then."

    After breakfast, Anna looked around in the garden and found an old coffee can. What should she put in the can?

    With her cat Kitty following close behind, Anna looked through her things. She grabbed her favorite book, her yo-yo and some photos. She put them in the can. She pulled off her watch and placed it in the can too. 

    "What else should I put into it?" she asked Kitty.

    "Meow." Kitty pushed a ball toward the can.

    "Sure, Kitty, I'll include your ball." Anna put Kitty's ball in the can.

    Anna put the top on and closed the can. On the front, she wrote ANNA AND KITTY'S TIME CAPSULE and then buried it in the garden. "All done," she told Kitty.

    After a few minutes, Anna sighed. What should she do next? She couldn't yo-yo. Or read her favorite book. She'd buried those. Now, she missed them.

    "Meow." Kitty looked at her.

    "Do you miss your ball?" Anna asked. "Don't worry. I'll get it for you." So Anna dug up their time capsule.

    Kitty pounced on the ball. And Anna pulled on her watch and read her book while yo-yoing under a tree in the garden. 

    People say that George Washington, the first president of the United States, never told a lie. But it seems that the president was not without faults.

    A New York library recently found that Washington borrowed two books from the library in 1789. He would have to pay the library 300,000 dollars for being 220 years late.

    On October 5, 1789, when the first president borrowed the books form the New York Society Library, he didn't sign his name in the borrower's book. He just wrote "president" to show who had taken them out.

    The two books should have been brought back a month later but were never returned. Workers at the library realized the books were missing.

    The New York Society Library doesn't expect anyone to pay the fine. But it hopes that someone will return the books.

Every time I see people riding bicycles on the street, I always think of the time I spent on my grandpa's old bike.

When I was little, my parents were so busy that they often left me home {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. So my grandpa came to {#blank#}2{#/blank#} me. At that time, it was impossible for most people to own a car. They usually got around {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. And how did I go to school then? Yes, I went there on Grandpa's bike! When the bike was moving forward, it made some funny sounds that always {#blank#}4{#/blank#} me {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. I clapped my little hands and sang happily. Grandpa turned back over and over again to {#blank#}6{#/blank#} my little feet would not get caught in the wheel. Grandpa was so careful that I never {#blank#}7{#/blank#} in his care. What a sweet memory it is!

Now, I am studying in a boarding school and I miss my grandpa a lot. I wish I could relive those old days.
