Now scientists have discovered that the dogs behave like their masters, too. Just like children, they use a “ look and learn” ways when they go about their tasks.
Scientists at Oxford universities designed an experiment to test if the dogs have the ability to copy humans' actions by using a simple wooden box. 10 owners showed their dogs how to open the wooden box .Sometimes they use their heads to push it and sometimes they use their hands.
10 dogs were divided into two groups—Group 1 and Group 2. In the first part of the test, Group 1 were rewarded with a piece of meat for copying their owner's actions. Group 2 were rewarded with food for not copying and using other ways. With each dog the experiment was repeated hundreds of times. Scientists recorded the time to see which group was first to get 85% right. They found that Group1finished the task much sooner than Group 2.
In the second part of the test, all the dogs were only rewarded for copying the way that their owners used. Group1 reached the 85% mark more quickly than Group 2.
So the scientists draw a conclusion: “Like humans, dogs can copy actions that they see. Dogs' imitative(仿效的)behavior is shaped more by their interactions(互动)with humans than by evolution(进化).”
Scientists said,“A dog's behavior is influenced much like that of a child; they look and learn similar behavior. We hope that owners understand the importance of their actions and use this knowledge to set good examples and therefore have a good effect on the behavior of their pets.”

(1)、The scientists believe dog's imitative behavior mainly comes from______________.

A、proper rewards B、domestication C、human-dog interactions D、evolution
(2)、The best title may be “___________________”.

A、Dogs can finish their tasks quickly B、Dogs are interesting animals C、Masters always set good examples D、Dogs behave like their masters.
(3)、From the experiment, we know _______________.

A、It took the two groups of dogs the same time to finish the required task B、The dogs that copied their masters finished the required task much sooner C、The dogs that were encouraged to copy their masters finished the task more slowly D、The dogs that were encouraged not to copy their masters finished the task more quickly
(4)、According to the last paragraph, we can infer ______________.

A、a cruel man can raise a cruel dog B、dogs can be influenced by anyone C、dogs always behave positively D、dogs are the best kind of pets

You probably know many of the things that you can do with the hundreds of different muscles in your body. But have you ever thought about how the muscles in an animal's body are different from yours? An animal's muscles are made to do the things that are most important for its life.

Lions are hunters. They depend on their ability to catch other animals. Lions must be fast in order to catch their prey(猎物). The powerful muscles in their back legs allow them to run at speeds of more than 30 miles per hour. They can also jump a distance of more than 35 feet. The strong muscles in their front legs help them catch their prey.

Snakes also use their muscles for hunting prey and for movement, but their muscles work in very different ways than lions' do. Because snakes do not have any legs, they use their muscles to push against the ground or other objects to move themselves forward. Their muscles also allow them to eat things that seem much too large. For example, a snake may eat an egg that is larger than the width of its body. How does this happen? The snake's strong neck muscles work together to push the egg down the mouth.

The elephant's long nose has a lot of muscles. Scientists believe that the nose alone has more than 100,000 muscles! This is because the elephant uses its nose much in the same way that people use their hands and fingers. Even though the nose is large, it can perform surprisingly tasks. For example, an elephant can pick up a small leaf from the ground. The nose can also be a powerful tool. An elephant can use its nose to pick up a tree by its roots or even to lift a baby elephant.

The great muscles of these animals seem pretty unbelievable. But the muscles in your body work exactly the way you need them to. After all, it might be fun to be able to jump a distance of 30 feet, but as a human being, there is just not much need for it.

What should you do if there's an earthquake at school? How can you protect yourself when you are caught in a stampede(踩踏)?March 28, 2016 provided you with a good chance to learn about safety.

This day was called the National Day of Education on the Safety of Elementary and Middle School Students(NDESEMSS)(全国中小学生安全教育日). The theme of the day was to give students more knowledge about safety and make sure their lives are safe.

A survey done by the China Youth and Children Research Center showed that school accidents kill more elementary and middle school students than anything else. The main accidents come from stampedes, earthquakes, fires and sports injuries(伤害).

What can we do to keep ourselves safe? Staying calm is the first and most important rule when facing accidents. But different accidents have different self-protection advice.

A stampede is possible anywhere. The larger a crowd gets, the more likely stampedes become. When students around you begin to push, stand still and try to hold onto something, or stay in a corner until the crowd leaves. If you fall down in a moving crowd, cover your head with both hands. Lean to(偏向) one side, curl up(蜷缩) your body and bend your legs.

Earthquakes are common natural disasters(灾难). When you feel the ground shake, drop down, take cover under a desk and hold on. You should stay indoors until the shaking stops. If you are outdoors, don't stay near buildings, trees or power lines.

When there's a fire, follow the teachers' instructions, leave the classroom quickly and use a piece of wet cloth to cover your mouth and nose so that you don't breathe in smoke.
