The office worker of Environmental Protection said earlier this week that there were several 8 reasons behind the widespread haze: unpleasant weather conditions making9difficult for smog to disappear, motor vehicle exhaust(尾气), and coal use for winter heating.
To fight pollution, the Chinese government now plans to clean up the air by cutting coal use,10 some factories, and removing 6 million old cars from the roads.
“We must face up to the facts,” said Yan Naiqiang, a professor of environmental science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. “The treatment of smog will be a long fight. From now on, if we use buses or cars less and do more riding, we believe a clear sky is not a faraway dream.”

The Mogao Caves are a very special place in China, which are located in Dunhuang, Gansu Province. The Mogao Caves are thousands of years old and were listed as a world heritage (遗产) site by UNESCO in 1987.

Many people, including archaeologists ( 考古 学家) and researchers, work hard to take care of the Mogao Caves and learn more about them. Fan Jinshi is one of them.

Fan was born in Beijing on July 9, 1938. Her father was a graduate of Tsinghua University and had a strong interest in Chinese classical art and culture.

Influenced by her father, Fan liked visiting museums when she was in middle school. With the great love of Chinese culture, she studied in the archaeology department in Peking University and graduated in 1963. Then she started working at Dunhuang and has worked there ever since. She spends almost 60 years taking care of Dunhuang. People call her the " Daughter of Dunhuang".

On May 4, 2023, "Daughter of Dunhuang" Fan Jinshi returned to Peking University and brought back 10 million RMB donations to set up the Fan Jinshi Education Fund (基金) to    ▲  .

"Money made should be spent in the right way. People cannot only think of themselves," she said. "Hopefully the setting of the Fund can help Dunhuang studies at the university, so it can raise cultural confidence and strength. "

 阅读下列材料, 从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中, 选出最佳选项。

Resting her phone on a stand and making the light more suitable, 49- year- old Lyu Min started her live- streaming session— her daily job. Dressed in a qipao, a traditional Chinese dress, Lyu started the live- streaming session from her workshop at 10 in the morning, sharing the art of making Chinese knots with many handicraft(手工艺) lovers. She is using a length of colored string and determination to keep this traditional art of Chinese knots alive and help more people understand the culture.

 Online traditional Yue Opera show

Recently, Chen Yu, an actress of Yue Opera in Ningbo, Zhejiang province has caught people's attention through live- streaming. She wears costumes and sings beautiful songs from Yue Opera. Apart from singing, Chen also introduces knowledge about Yue Opera when interacting with her fans."A number of people at home and abroad visit me online, so as an actress, it's necessary for me to tell new comers about this traditional culture."

National parks with Yangtze River Culture

China plans to build national parks with Yangtze River culture as their theme, as part of efforts to protect the waterway's cultural heritage(遗产). According to a circular(通告) on the parks' construction (建造) said by the central leading group on developing national- culture parks, the parks will be built in the 13 provinces along Yangtze River.

 阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中选出最佳选项。

The Palace Museum, a widely visited cultural landmark in Beijing, announced new visiting rules on Thursday. These rules include a ban(禁令) on"interviews" and"commercial(商业的) photography". Without the museum' s permission, activities such as performances, on-site surveys and religious events are not allowed. The new rules will come into effect on June 30. Those who seriously break the rules will be listed as"uncivilized tourists".

Fang Qiongqiong, a cultural sociologist in Shanghai, said these rules were made to prevent chaos(混乱) and improper behavior at historical sites like the Palace Muse um. She added that balancing the social and cultural role was a difficult task.

Efforts to stop improper behavior at popular tourist spots in China have increased. The Palace Museum' s ban on commercial photo shoots is a noticeable change. A staff member said commercial photo shoots were often seen at the museum and sometimes put off the closing time.

The museum's new rules, especially the ban on photography and filming, have become a hot topic on Sina Weibo. Netizens have different opinions. Some wonder if online streaming will also be banned. One netizen supports the new rule, saying the age of short videos is excessive and people can do crazy things in public places to attract attention.

According to data, the Palace Museum welcomed 30,000 visitors on January 1, one of its busiest days. Tags like"Palace Museum' s autumn view" and"snowy Palace Museum" are popular on The Little Red Book. Chen remarked that the new ban might reduce the museum's exposure(曝光) on the Internet.

The notice also said day tickets would no longer be sold at the museum entrance. All visitors must make reservations in advance with their real names.
