Do you know how chocolate is made?Recently my class had a field trip to the Cadbury Chocolate Factory in Toronto,Canada.

We were divided into 10 groups and visited an old building.The guide first explained the history of the factory.Then we got some earbuds(耳塞) to protect our ears from the noise of the machines.We also needed to wear disposable(一次性的) lab clothes and hairnets(发网)

After these preparations,we went upstairs and entered the chocolate﹣making area.The floor was filled up with many machines.Each machine has a different job.The whole floor only has two people working,because machines do most of the work.Next,and there were more than1,000 people working in the factory.But now the factory is very different.It's amazing how technology is changing people's life.

Later,we saw the chocolate﹣making process.We got a cocoa bean,some powdered(粉状的),kind of like dark chocolate.It is the raw material used to make chocolate.The powdered chocolate tasted good already.It is a combination of cocoa bean,milk and sugar.The final product tasted delicious.

Finally,we bought some chocolate at a shop in the factory.It was at a very low price.I learned about the chocolate industry during the field trip.And I also realized how important technology is.

Read the passage and fill in the blanks with proper words.

Tigers are fierce animals. They are the bosses of the Asian jungles with their cleverness,quickness and strength. A pussycat,on the other hand

As a mother, the Chinese﹣American writer Amy Chua is definitely a tiger. Her book,Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother (虎妈战歌) tells of the strict upbringing she gave her two children. She thinks that being  strict is the only way to d {#blank#}1{#/blank#} a child's potential and to make them strong,i{#blank#}2{#/blank#} and successful. Her kids were not allowed to watch TV or play video games. They were not allowed to "hang out" with other kids after school. They had to be the top students in their classes. And they had to p{#blank#}3{#/blank#} the piano and violin for hours every day. As a result,her kids became successful. She admits this caused a lot of tears and anger but she has few regrets (后悔).

Chua says,like her,most A{#blank#}4{#/blank#} mothers are tigers because they believe their children can a{#blank#}5{#/blank#} a lot if they're pushed hard enough. She says American mothers are really cats. They care more about their children's self﹣esteem (自尊). They don't want to push their kids too hard for fear of hurting their feelings. W{#blank#}6{#/blank#} soft words and understanding,they encourage their children to find their own path.

So,is a tiger mom better than a pussycat? Perhaps it depends on the differences between Asian and Western cultures. It may also depend on the child himself. Some kids need to be pushed w{#blank#}7{#/blank#} others respond to a gentler hand.

To growl or to purr? There is no easy answer.

Many of us like to watch and post short videos. But can we share whatever we like, even with the wrong information?

A blogger(博主) said sorry for one video she posted on Feb 16. In the video, she said that she had found a student's holiday workbook and said the student's name was Qin Lang. Many internet users checked the student's name, grade, and school. They found out the video might not be real. In a new video, the blogger claimed (声称) that she had given the wrong information to protect the student's privacy(隐私).

Some people might think it's not a big deal if you make a video with the wrong information. They believe that saying sorry will fix everything. But it's not that simple. According to the Law on Penalties for Administration of Public Security(《治安管理处罚法》), if the videos don't care about the truth and disturb(扰乱) public order, their makers will get punished (惩罚).

It's important to be creative when people make short videos. However, it is not OK to make up stories and break the law.

As early as 2000, the State Council issued the Administrative Measures on Internet Information Services(《互联网信息服务管理办法》). It bans(禁止) spreading rumors and disturbing the social order. If you break the law, you could get in trouble. For example, you might get your social media account(账户) stopped, have to pay fines, get detailed(拘留) or even go to jail(监狱).

Eleven online celebrities in Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture in Sichuan were arrested (逮捕) in 2023 for selling fake products in videos. They got sentences from 8 months to 3 years and 2 months in jail.

 根据短文内容判断正、误,正确的用"A"表示,错误的用"B"表示。

Once upon a time, there was a king. He always worried about what might happen, the future. One day, the king noticed a cobbler(修鞋匠). Although he wore ragged(破旧的)clothes, he was very happy. Why could he smile so brightly? The king decided to find out the reason.

The next day, the king dressed in rags and followed the cobbler home.

"Please, sir, can you give some food to me?" asked the king.

"Of course," said the cobbler.

"Why are you so happy?"

"Today I made enough money by repairing shoes to buy the bread."

"But what will happen if you don't make enough money for food tomorrow?"

"I have confidence. Everything will be fine."

This touched the king. But he wondered what would happen if the cobbler couldn't make enough money. So the next day, the king didn't allow anyone to repair shoes. The cobbler didn't know why, but he wasn't sad. Whenhe saw some villagers trying to carry water home, he helped them and got a little money from them.

That evening the king went to the coobler's house again. The cobbler was having soup and smiling.

"How could you pay for the food today?" asked the king.

"I made money by helping the villagers carry water," said the cobbler. "But what will you do tomorrow?"

"I have confidence. Everything will be fine."

"Your confidence has driven away my fear about the future. Thank you." said the king.
