Laura lived in a small village near the sea. One day she decided to go for a swim in the sea. She knew that the sea near the1had a strong tide(浪), but she was a good swimmer, so she wasn't 2. Laura left her friends lying on the sands and ran into the sea. She swam quite far out from the beach and waved（招手）to her friends in the distance. After a short while she decided to swim 3. She tried her best, but she couldn't get any closer to the beach. The tide kept4 her back. They walked from door{#blank#}8{#/blank#}door to ask the{#blank#}9{#/blank#}/'neɪbəz/ for the things they don't need. At first, I wondered if we{#blank#}10{#/blank#}able to fill a box or two. Finally, however, we had ten boxes full of different things. Then it was time{#blank#}11{#/blank#}the yard sale.{#blank#}12{#/blank#} (即使；尽管)we had ads in the newspaper and online, I was still not sure whether whether anyone would come. {#blank#}13{#/blank#}(令我们惊奇的是), so many people came to our yard sale.  From 1982，every family in cities could only have one child.Wang Bing and her husband （ 丈 夫 ） were 1 same.There was the only one son in their family.Wang Bing and her husband felt so sorry for him. 2 ，every family can have three children in our country now.Two babies joined their family.They were happy  3 they were also busy.

Every year, Australia hosts a 543. 7-mile-long ultra-marathon(超级马拉松) race. 

In 1983, a potato farmer named Cliff Young showed up at the start of the race. People {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(意识到) that he was 61 years old and the race was dangerous for him. Cliff Young might {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(死) of tiredness, so some people tried to stop him. 

However, Cliff Young surprised everyone with an amazing {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(胜利). He not only won the race, but {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(设法完成) to break the race record. 

So how did Cliff Young make it? Well, he {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(继续) running throughout the night while other runners were {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(休息). He really had a very strong {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(意志). 

When Cliff Young was awarded the winning prize of $10, 000, he said he {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(实在；的确) didn't know there was a prize. He gave away his prize money to the rest of the runners after him. 

After the win, Cliff Young {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(参加) many ultra- marathon races to raise money for homeless children. His running style which is still popular {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(在国外) is called " The Cliff Shuffle".
