I have a neighbor we call “Happy”. I have never seen her angry at anything and never heard her say a harsh word to anyone or about anyone.
Happy and her husband Ben, 70, have a huge garden. They spent many happy hours together working on it. Most of the neighbors watched interestingly as Ben doubled the size of their garden. As the cost of food climbed faster than Ben's beans, we all wished we also had such a large garden. As the rest of us spent our dollars at the market, Happy could be seen picking beans in her back yard.
Last month, Happy and Ben invited most of the neighborhood over for an “all-day food festival”. We were told to bring gloves and arrive very early in the morning. We didn't know what was about to take place.
By 9:00 am, there were nine of us in the garden picking tomatoes, beans, okra, and squash. By 10:00 am, there was lots of laughter. We shared a lot of stories. By five o'clock, everyone was a little drunk from the wine and beer. After dinner, we played games. As we were leaving, Happy and Ben handed each of us a shopping bag filled with the bounty of the day, already packaged and frozen. What a delightful gift!
Well, the point wasn't so much about the food. The true gift was a day of friends enjoying one another's company. None of it would have happened if it had been for Happy and Ben's garden. Now they have a blog about gardening in case we decided to plant a garden. And I am so proud of my tomato plants!

(3)、For what purpose did Happy and Ben invite the neighbors to their garden?

A、To ask them to attend a birthday party B、To help them get to know each other C、To let them enjoy what they grew in the garden D、To ask them to share some interesting stories
(4)、What did the writer most probably think of the time he spent in the garden?

A、He thought it was too short but enjoyable. B、He thought it was wonderful C、He thought it was not as good as he thought. D、He thought it was too terrible.
(5)、We can infer that                     .

A、Happy and her husband Ben don't like spending time with others B、Happy and her husband Ben sometimes quarrel with each other C、Happy and her husband Ben are a generous and warm-hearted couple D、Happy and her husband Ben live on the food they grow in their garden

A call came into Jimmy Gilleece's bar this past March. A newly married woman who had spent the afternoon at the dive (潜水) beach bar in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, couldn't find her wallet. She didn't care about her ID, credit cards, or $150—but her wedding ring was inside it.

Gilleece, 42, the boss of the bar, didn't like the idea that there was a thief at his place. So he set out to find the wallet. He spent hours looking for the footage(录像) from 16 different cameras, watching the woman's every step in the bar. Finally, a young man caught his eyes. He picked up something from the place where the woman stood and put it in his pocket.

Gilleece posted the picture on the bar's Facebook and asked if anybody knew who the guy was. Within hours, 17-year-old Rivers Prather came and said he had taken the wallet and told Gilleece he'd done it because he hadn't eaten for two days. He said he saw the ring but thought it was not real, so he took the money, and threw the wallet into the ocean. Then he bought a sandwich.

Prather wasn't getting along with his family and lived in the woods for weeks. Gilleece saw him for what he was: more of a kid than a thief. Gilleece wanted to help him somehow. He found two local divers, to search the waters where Prather threw the wallet. After waiting for hours worriedly but luckily, a diver came out from the water with the wallet in his hand, and inside was the ring.

"Most people would give the footage to police, but the boss chose to help me," Prather told CBS News. "I say thank you to him every day."

"I'm going to make a time capsule(胶囊)," Anna told her parents at the breakfast table.

Dad looked up from his coffee cup and smiled. "Sounds interesting."

"Dad, I'm building a time capsule – it's like a memory box. I watched my teacher dig one up from our school yard yesterday. Some students buried(埋) the capsule thirty years ago. It had a lot of old things in it, so we could see what life was like back then."

After breakfast, Anna looked around in the garden and found an old coffee can. What should she put in the can?

With her cat Kitty following close behind, Anna looked through her things. She grabbed her favorite book, her yo-yo and some photos. She put them in the can. She pulled off her watch and placed it in the can too.

"What else should I put into it?" she asked Kitty.

"Meow." Kitty pushed a ball toward the can.

"Sure, Kitty, I'll include your ball." Anna put Kitty's ball in the can.

Anna put the top on and closed the can. On the front, she wrote ANNA AND KITTY'S TIME CAPSULE and then buried it in the garden. "All done," she told Kitty.

After a few minutes, Anna sighed. What should she do next? She couldn't yo-yo. Or read her favorite book. She'd buried those. Now, she missed them.

    "Meow." Kitty looked at her.

"Do you miss your ball?" Anna asked. "Don't worry. I'll get it for you." So Anna dug up their time capsule.

Kitty pounced on the ball. And Anna pulled on her watch and read her book while yo-yoing under a tree in the garden.
